Hi I'm Ben! My mom doesn't know that, but my cru- I mean my best friend Kenji knows.

To sum it up, I'm transgender. My mom thinks I'm [deadname] when I'm really Ben.

I think if my mom found out that I was trans she'd say I'm just "growing up" and "this is not apart of our family name" but whatever. I like who I am.

But I should tell you the story of how I came out to Kenji.

We met at a party that was for Kenji's dad and his co-workers which one of them happened to be my mom.

We kept going to those parties and eventually that was our way of seeing each other. I was about 9 when I found out I was trans. I was going to see Kenji again when I was 10 so I was really happy.

The day of the party (flashback)

"Psst Kenji" I giggled

"Huh? What?" Kenji replied

"Let's sneak to the back!" I said whispering into Kenji's ear.

"Heheh! Ok!" Kenji replied with a evil look.

Once we got to the back, by ourselves. I prepared myself. Why? Because I was gonna tell him I was trans.

"Kenji.. I have to tell you something" I said awkwardly

"What is it? You can tell me anything!" Kenji said

"I.. you know how I'm a girl?" I said, afraid

"Uh.. yeah" Kenji replied in confusion

"Well.. I'm not. I'm not a girl anymore, I'm a boy" I let out.

Kenji looked confused for a moment. " OH MY GOSH!! REALLY? IVE ALWAYS WANTED A BOY FRIEND!" Kenji then let out.

"Wait .. I MEAN A FRIEND THATS A BOY NOT BOYFRIEND LIKE YOUR MY BOYFRIEND NONONO JUST FRIEND THATS A BOY!!" Kenji yelled realizing what he had said.

I giggled, Kenji was so silly. I blushed.

"SO WHATS YOUR BOY NAME? OR DO YOU NOT HAVE ONE! Cause I like Kenji 2.0" Kenji said.

I laughed "yes I do, it's Ben" I replied.

"BEN?!? BEN YOUR MY BEST FRIEND!!" Kenji yelled out and then hugged me very tight.

" your my best friend too." I said back hugging him tighter.

My best friend, Kenji, helped me though everything.
