i sat in the doctors office waiting for my name to be called. desmond still wasn't there but i didn't care. this is about the baby and if he wants to be a absent father he can.
"jazymn" i heard the doctor call out
i stood up about to walk in the back before swing desmond walk through the door
"sorry i'm late i got caught up with sum" he said jogging a lil bit to catch up to me and the doctor
"mhmm" i hummed
"you must be the dad, i'm dr. freemen it's nice to meet you" she said reaching her hand out
he shook her hand before she broke the silence "first i need to check your weight" she said as i nodded slipping off my slides and stepping on the scale
"mkk" she said writing it down on her laptop "did you want to know how much you weighted" she added looking up at me
"sure" i said
"you weight 165" she said as i nodded "ok right this way" she added leading us into her room
i walked in the room behind her and laid on the table she turned the lights off and put on some gloves
"so from your chart it says your about 7 weeks correct?" she asked and i nodded
" ok so right now your baby should be the size of a blueberry" she said putting the gel on my stomach
"that lil mf small asf" desmond said causing me to laugh
"you say that now until they're not so little anymore" dr. freemen said chuckling
"you right" he said
"this shouldn't hurt at all you'll just feel a little pressure" she said turning her attention back to me
"ok" i said as she started to move the probe stick around
"so right here that's your baby" she said pointing to the screen then pressed a button which took pictures
"so how long until we know the gender" i asked
"around 19-20 weeks is when i personally recommend you check, however you can check earlier but there is always risks and it's not always correct" she respond
"what kind of risks" desmond asked
"you could lose the baby" she said
"yeah we'll just wait" i said
"do you want to hear the heartbeat?" she asked
"yes ma'am" i said
she turned on the sound of the machine and the baby's heartbeat instantly filled the room my life felt complete in that moment i looked over at desmond and he was smiling so hard
"i can tell you to will be great parents" the doctor said cleaning the gel off my stomach and taking off her gloves turning on the lights
"i do recommend you start taking some prenatal vitamins if you haven't already, you can take simple over the counter or i can prescribe you some." she said looking at me
"i have been taking some is there a specific brand you recommend" i asked
"nature made or nature bounty" she said
"okay thank you" i said as she nodded
"do you have any more questions?" she ask i shook my head no "well ok try to keep your stress level as low as possible, drinks lots of water, and get a good nights sleep. i look forward to seeing you in the next couple weeks. you can schedule you next visit at the front desk or online. take your time when leaving the room" she said walking out the room
"shid so i guess your really pregnant" desmond said making me stale face him
"naaa i just faked this whole thing" i said still straight facing him as i got off the bed
"shut up" she said handing me my purse
"don't tell me to shut up" i mugged him
"man bring yo ass" he said as he walked out the door
"i'm only coming cs i need to leave not because you told me to" i said pushing past him
"mhmm" he hummed
"hi can i schedule my next appointment" i said as i made my way to the front desk
"sure what's your name" the lady said
"jazymn fletcher" i said
desmond stood behind me rubbing my belly
"ok for your 2nd check up, congratulations by the way"
"yes, and thank you" i smiled
"no problem. so we should see you back in about to weeks" she said causing me to nod
i finished scheduling the appointment and we left out the building
"whatchu finna get into" desmond asked
"shit my bed" i laughed
"sleepy ass girl, but alright i'm going to come check up on y'all later" he said and i nodded walking to my car getting in and pulling off
