Lan wangji gets an unknown curse that limits his lifetime. Wei Wuxian was too late in saving his husband and during his grieving makes a talisman that can send him back in time. He was sent back in time farther them he expected, he didn't expect that people came back with him either.
I haven't thought it out too much but it's technically just Wei Wuxian, depending on the situation lan wangji can come with him or someone else, way back in the past where His parents were just teenagers
