You were excited today because it was you and your girlfriend Jamie's anniversary.

You've been dating for almost a year now and you couldn't be happier. You had your dress, jewelry, and shoes out, ready to be put on.

As you looked at your dress, something didn't feel right, but there was only one person that could help you. "Becky!" You called for your best friend. The orange head soon showed up with a smirk on her face.

"Ooo, what's got you getting dressed all fancy?" You picked up the dress and held it against your body. "It's me and Jamie's anniversary and I want to know if this looks too fancy, or too casual." The smile dropped off Becky's face at the mention of Jamie's
name.

Becky never trusted Jamie from the start, especially with her being in another company, but you gave her the benefit of the doubt. "Oh, yeah. I think it looks great." Your lip jutted out at her sad tone. "Hey, you okay?" Becky instantly changed her posture. "Yeah, imma go lay down. Let me know how it goes."

She didn't even let you get a word in before she left and closed your room door. Although you were confused, you didn't question it. You were broken out when your phone started to ring. When you looked at the call ID it was Jamie.

You picked up and answered. "Hey baby!" Jamie responded, sounding excited. "Hey, what time do you want me to pick you up?" You looked at the clock and hummed. "Maybe, 7?" Jamie agreed. "Can't wait to see you. Bye, my love." You both said your goodbyes and hung up.

God, you loved this girl so much. You looked back at the time and it was 6:27. Your eyes grew wide and you rushed to go to the shower. You always want to make sure you look good for her. After your shower you got dressed and put on her favorite perfume.

A knock at the door stopped you from your singing and dancing parade. You opened it and saw an u expression on Becky's face. "Jamie's here." You gave her a smile and walked out. Jamie was standing in the living room, looking nervous. She was picking at her fingernails. "Hey, are you ready to go?" You looked at her with a worried look.

She sounded so uneasy compared to earlier. "You okay? You don't sound so good." Jamie was quick to fix her face and clear her throat. "N-no I'm alright, let's just go." She grabbed your wrist and started dragging you near the door, but Becky stopped you.

"Y/n, call me if there's any problems, and don't drink too much!" You shook your head and laughed. "Yes, Mom." You joked and left.

On your way to the restaurant, Jamie was so distracted. She didn't say a word to you the whole 20 minutes of driving, which was odd. You soon found yourselves at a table, food in front of you with low jazz music playing in the background.

"So, how was your day? Any special matches?" You started a conversation, making Jamie pause. "No." She continued eating as if she didn't give you a cold shoulder. You decided to brush it off and change the subject. "My parents want to see you again, and taste your Mac & Cheese." Jamie ignored you, making you uff loudly.

It was y'all's first anniversary and she wasn't even looking at you. You dropped the fork, making a loud clinging noise. "Alright, fess up, Jamie. What's wrong with you?" Jamie kept picking at her food, and rolling it around. "Jamie Hayter, if you don't answer me, I swear."

Jamie took a deep breath and finally made eye contact with you. "You wanna know what's wrong with me?" You cocked your eyebrow at her. "I asked, didn't I?" She scoffed, her tongue poking at her cheek. "I cheated on you with Britt." You fell silent quickly.

It was like your whole world became silent and the only thing in your ears was that same sentence.

'I cheated on you with Britt.'

Your mouth was agape, but nothing was coming out. How could anyone respond to that sentence? "W-why?" Jamie sighed, rolling her eyes. "Look Y/n, I mean no disrespect, but you're just so annoying!Always wanting to touch me, kiss me, talk to me, you're just too clingy!"

You listened to her as she complained about you. "And Britt isn't any of that. I'm around her 24/7 and she's never been like that and the moment we had sex, I knew she was better than you." Tears built up in your eyes as you sat and listened to your (ex) girlfriend compare you to another woman.

She stood up, wiping her mouth. "This is Uber. I hope we can still be friends, but for now, I'm with Britt." Those were the last words she said to you before walking out, leaving you at that table alone. It didn't help that this was an expensive restaurant.

You nervously looked around and saw the waiter coming your way. "Ma'am, I saw what happened and I just wanted to say I'm sorry and that you don't have to pay." Well, that was one good thing about this night. "Thank you."

You walked outside, only to reveal that it was pouring down raining. Great, this night gets better every second. You finished your phone out of your jacket pocket and dialed Becky's number.

She answered within seconds. "Hey Y/n, how-" You cut her off with a heartbreaking sob. "B-beck?" Becky sat up from the couch. "Y/n? What's going on? Are you okay?" You sniffled, feeling the cold rain hit your body. "I need y-you to come get m-me." Becky didn't waste any time, getting up and driving to you.

She didn't have to ask why you were crying, she just wanted to make sure you're okay. When she saw you on the sidewalk, hair flat on your dress, she knew you were broken. She gently helped you in the car and drove you back home.

She helped you shower, even after all your protests, she fed you, and she even laid down with you on the bed. She turned in your favorite movie in hopes to distract you from everything. "Becky, do you think I'm clingy?" Becky turned to look at you. "No, why?" You shook your head, trying to forget about Jamie.

"Why?" Becky asked again, more sternly. "Jamie said I was and that was why she cheated on me." Becky rolled her eyes. "Y/n, look at me." You made eye contact with her. "Jamie is a dumbass for thinking you're clingy. It's just you love language, and if she can't handle that then she doesn't deserve you."

You might be heartbroken, but Becky was gonna comfort you to make you forget about her.
