Lonely Night Interrupted

After finishing off with what you thought would be your last customer,
You greet them goodbye and finally decide to close for the night.

But before you would do so,
You decided to stare outside at the night sky for a short while,
Your eyes look pretty yet curious due to that expression you have while looking out,
It was a mix of being mesmerized and being curious.
"i miss home, it's been so long and I have no one to go back to anyway.."

You let out a sigh and turn your back to start cleaning things up

Unexpectedly another customer came,
You turn around to see who it was
"geez who would buy pastries at this hour-" but your thoughts were cut off when you realized who was approaching

"SARAH?!!!? GOODNESS WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO COME AT THIS HOUR,
Being a sweet tooth isn't shameful but interrupting me sure is.."
As you were trying to piece what you would do in your head sarah finally talks to you.

"hey, I'm not here for bread.. But I am here for coffee.
I know it's late but you can't Excatly turn away from me can't you?." she chuckles a bit

You go "hahaha yes ma'am please, have a seat and I'll have it prepare for you."

"I guess even people who drink coffee at night exist, maybe she's planning to do some things after."
You mumble quietly while preparing the drink

"say captain your all alone, where's the rest of you're people?."
You say trying to make a small conversation to lessen how quiet you both were

"eh just still there drinking with the rest of the towns folks,
I wanted to get a drink myself but tonight I felt like I rather wanted something else."

You both talk for a little while until you were done

You approach her table and give her coffee while smiling nervously with your mouth
"hehe well that's fine,
Now enjoy your coffee."
And you walk away trying to run away from the conversation.

But then you hear her say
"I will not lie,
You look rather familiar to someone I once knew even if your a girl.."

You feel your heart sink
"oh God what do i do,
Well I can still lie anyway.. Just act natural y/n!."

"oh how so captain? Are you saying I remind you of a young boy?"

She laughs and says
"Hahaha! yes,
He was the quiet type even for someone of the inevitable,
After all that's happened he left with the rest of the crew and I haven't seen or heard about him since then..

I wonder where he is now,
Even for someone as aloof as him he was still a skilled hunter. "

You try to think of a response
" gosh I hope she thinks "he's" dead,
I would much rather have that. "
You say in your head.

You both talk and talk even after she's finished her coffee,
You were nervous but handled it out smoothly
" now I'm afraid I have to go now,
But I do wish to meet you again soon,
Goodnight to you now. " sarah says with a small smile.

"no worries it's my pleasure captain,
Goodnight as well, enjoy the rest of your evening ." you reply to her.

You take the coins she left on the table and after you make sure she's far away gone from your little bakery,
You sigh deeply with relief while placing your hand on your heart.

" OH GOOD DEAR GOD ITS OVER,
I CANT BELIEVE SHE STILL REMEMBERS ME,
I sure hope she doesn't ever bring him up again or find out.."

Now you get to actually close up,
Afraid of anyone else coming in you quickly put a close sign outside and lock the door and windows,

So you can finally start cleaning up the rest of everything.
