"It was a dark and stormy night." That's how these kinds of stories usually start, right? Well, mine couldn't have been further from that. The day of the attack, it was warm and sunny, perfect weather for a swim in the lake. Or, it started that way anyway. There was no warning, just sudden screaming, loud bangs, and a whole lot of yelling. It went on for a while, and then they found me. They can rushing out of the trees, weapons held ready, all aimed at one person: me. One of them yelled for me to come out of the water, slowly, with my hands raised. Not wanting to die so young, I quickly did as they said, but I wasn't planning on going quietly. See, the thing is, I'm not a normal kid. I can do things other kids, other people, can't do. I glanced around, checking to see how many of them there were. About twenty-five against one, so pretty good odds. I closed my eyes, grew very still, and began focusing. After a couple seconds, the soldiers became still and quiet. A few more seconds, and when I opened my eyes, they were all fast asleep on the ground. In case you haven't figured it out by now, I can mind control people. Before, I could only control one person at a time, but I practiced relentlessly, every single day. Now, I can control large crowds. I left the soldiers where they were, they wouldn't be waking up any time soon, to go see what had happened to my home. As I walked along the path to the village, I noticed I couldn't hear any of the usual sounds I would hear while on the path. Because of that, I already knew what I would find: wreckage and death. This wasn't the first time something like this had happened, inhad lived in more places than most people will see in their entire life times. See, the truth is, I'm not even a human. I was once an entity of immense power that had been around since the creation of existence. But eventually, I got bored, and so I decided to try out living as a being on a planet. I decided on Earth, took an agender body ( too much work otherwise) and started living. I was already immortal, so for my second power to use, I decided on being able to change my outward appearance. Anyway, I didn't feel like seeing all that right now, so I walked off into the trees and headed toward where I lived, a small house a little ways away from the village. I gathered the few things I possessed, and left yet another life, ready to begin another.
