On second thought, Yohan probably shouldn't have stopped Billie to thank her once she saw the living room situation. It was almost like it had been planned.

Billie absolutely knew it had been planned. Zoe and Drew were spooning across the bigger couch, making sure no one else had room to sit there. Ella had been sprawled across the love seat and before Billie could even move to sit with her—deciding it was better if Ella just sat on her lap—Drew had stopped her because Ella had already fallen asleep.

Billie sighed and moved to sit on the other sofa, it was a two-seater, smaller than the one her best friends were laying on which meant she would be sitting pretty close to Yohan. She sat awkwardly on one end as Yohan walked in a few seconds behind her, assessing the situation. She had looked towards the love seat just like Billie had, noticing that Ella was fast asleep she realized she had no choice but to sit down next to Billie.

They started the movie and since Ella was already asleep, Zoe had decided on a horror movie.

Billie and Yohan tried not too look at each other. They both knew how Billie felt about horror movies. She used to cling to Yohan like her life depended on it, especially during the jump scares. If Billie had any doubt this whole night had been orchestrated, she definitely didn't now. She was going to kill Zoe.

They both sat as far away from each other as they could on the couch. They weren't even five minutes into the movie before Billie jumped and shrieked. Thank God Ella was a heavy sleeper.

Billie was doing surprisingly well she thought. She thanked the throw pillow she was clutching for giving her the extra strength to not jump into Yohan's arms. Hugging it tightly instead. Zoe had noticed and vowed to throw those pillows away.

Neither girl had noticed they had both unconsciously scooted closer to each other as the movie progressed. Every time Billie got scared she would cover her eyes with the pillow and jump, always closer to Yohan.

Yohan was pretty sure she couldn't tell you what the movie was even about, painfully aware of a shrieking Billie next to her. It went against her very nature not to reach over and pull Billie in her arms. Her entire attention was focused on Billie and on forcing her body to stay put. Still, her arm had ended up draped on the couch behind Billie, though not close enough to touch her.

It happened near the end of the movie. A jump scare with thunder as background noise and although it wasn't real Billie wasn't prepared and she had launched herself into Yohan, hiding her face in her shoulder. Yohan held her against her body until she calmed down. Unconsciously brushing Billie's hair.

Billie realized she was clutching Yohan's shirt, feeling her abs and promptly moved away mumbling an embarrassed "Sorry."

Yohan smiled at Billie softly, noticing how vulnerable Billie looked. "It's okay."

At some point before the movie ended Drew had offered to take Ella upstairs and had tucked her in. Neither Billie nor Yohan made a move to change seats.

They watched several more movies. Zoe took pity on Billie and stayed away from any more horror movies. Mostly because Drew had whispered into Zoe's ear, threatening to withhold kisses if she picked another one.

She was sure Zoe would accomplish her mission anyway, based on how the two girls had pulled apart but didn't move farther away from each other. Leaving only a few inches gap between their bodies.

Billie and Yohan had fallen asleep by the third movie. Billie's head had drooped onto Yohan's shoulder, despite both of them trying their best to stay on their side of the couch. Yohan had unconsciously dropped her arm from the back of the couch to hold Billie instead.
