in another universe where
Max might've shown up
just a little bit earlier.

9:56 PM

Max had opened the door to the
shrine, being prepared to run
up the stairs, but she stopped
herself when she heard an
unfamiliar deep and raspy
voice speaking with an echo.

"You're a killer, just like your father"

"no i'm not!"
a now familar voice screamed back,

sam, was this about billy?

She slowly begun to climb up the stairs,
hope they couldn't hear the creek the
stairs let out each time she went up one.

"yes you are you motherfucker you killed
our brother"

Max couldn't recognize whatever voice
just yelled back at Sam, it was feminine
but harsh, it almost sounded familar,
but no one she knew. She found her way
to a wall close to whatever had been
going on, making sure no one saw her
she hid behind, trying to peak at whatever
they were talking about, but there were too
many displays holding terrible memories
hiding everybody.

"you said your brother died in a car accident"
Max recognized Tara speak

"no no no you sweet dumb thing"

she dug her nails into the concrete wall,
almost buckling over, she knew
that was ethan speaking. he really
had lied to her, instead of coming
with her, he had chosen to go
with his dad.

she was about to run up
to defend Sam and Tara
but she let Ethan talk

"he died in Woodsboro, at the
hands of your bitch sister"

it all made sense, Max finally
dropped to the floor, not caring
if they heard her, she'd rather die
than ever have to deal with the
pain of betrayal that might've
been worse than Ambers.

She bit hard on her tongue,
trying to prevent herself
from letting out painful sobs.
Max covered her mouth,
and she felt like the
smallest thing in the world,
she tried to become smaller
than she felt, holding her legs
to herself.
