The opening and the closing of the gate was something TWELVE sensed immediately, especially in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana.

Honestly, it was easy to ignore.

No one knew he was out here, no one knew he was going to high school, no one even knew he was called 'TWELVE' at some point in his life. He covered his numbered brand with a thick black leather bracelet.

Besides, who was gonna think queer choir geek was a super powered freak? He reads comic books for fucks sake. He's so in the clear.

He'd even avoided his (adopted) brother religiously when he'd tried to get him to help. Although he didn't know of TWELVE's past, he still kept him up to date with what was happening. Albeit making him slightly guilty of the fact.

Kennedy Wheeler was not who he once was in the forsaken lab. He was different now, obsessed with forgetting. Obsessed with being ignorant to the specific situation.
