*5 years later*

"honey how long have you got before work" emily walked in still putting her earrings in and then stopping to check her watch

"about 20 minutes why?"

"Mia needs to go to daycare but i'm supposed to have been in court 10 minutes ago"

"yeah okay i'll take her, also what we're you thinking about for dinner tonight"

"uhm how about pasta?"

"perfect" em put on her shoes and picked up our daughter mia then came up to me and gave me a quick kiss then tilted mia towards me so i could give her a kiss

"bye bye mia momma loves you, have a good day at work em"

"you too, text me when you get to court so i know you got there safe and oo remember we have to arrange dinner with your dad next week"

"thank god you reminded me i completely forgot"

"you're welcome, right i really gotta go" she blew me and air kiss and left, i left right after leaving for court and when i got there i made sure to text Emily

e: good, i got Mia to daycare, i
swear that lewis kid is a future
criminal he was putting play
doh in peoples hair xx

y/n: wouldn't surprise me
in the least, how's work, got any
big cases today? xx

e:  yeah, but don't worry, there
is no travelling with it so we
are still on for our dinner
date tonight xx

y/n: date? with our daughter? she
screams bloody murder when we
don't pay attention to her for
5 seconds xx

e: which is why i've already texted
Harry and Liz , they're gonna
babysit her tonight xx

y/n: can't wait, i have to go
i have to make my case, i love you,

later that night ifs finished up in court and headed home, i couldn't wait to hear about Emily's day, i could listen to her talk for hours, i walked inside and it was dark

"Emily? Emily where are you? is the power out again, do i need to change the fuse" i walked into the dining room and there were candles lit and Emily was stood there smiling at me with dinner in the table

"what's going on? i didn't miss an anniversary did i? shit is it my birthday?" she walked up to me and pulled out my seat for me to sit down then she sat next to me

"no there's no anniversary don't worry i just, y/n you're the love of my life"

"yeah i'd hope so we live together and have a baby i'd be a bit concerned if you didn't love me" i chuckled and she did too

"well i spoke to your dad because i wanted to do this right"

"do what right?" suddenly Emily stood up and went down to one knee

"em are you?"

"stop don't say anything before i cry, y/n i love you, i have spent the last 6 years loving you, every minute of every day i think about you, i could never imagine my life without you and i don't want to, i want to be with you forever"

"of course i will" she stood up and kissed me, wrapping her arms around my waist, lifting me up and spinning me round

"it's good you think that because i would not eat the dinner i cooked, we both know i'm no chef"
