Once again, me and Wally were walking in an uncomfortable silence. We finally got to the next house in a minute which felt like a year. This one was red, with a white roof, and decorated with a lot of hearts. Wally went ahead and knocked on the door this time, as if we were taking turns. The door slowly opened with a long creaking sound following its movements. Then popped out a girl with salmon skin, pink cheeks, light red dress, honey colored hair which jokingly enough, was shaped into a beehive sorta shape, and poking out of the hair were, I'm guessing horns?

"Oh my! Is this the new neighbor everyone is talking about?" She shook my hand, smiling at me and then to Wally.

"Correct!" Wally replied, finally breaking his gaze on me, only for him to get back at staring in a couple seconds.

"Oh right! Come on in!" She nodded her head towards the empty space between her and the door, ensuring we should go inside. I walked in, seeing lots of heart shaped furniture as well as red and pink everywhere. She pulled out the chair, inferring that we were supposed to sit at the coffee table in her living room. I sat down, continuing to look around in her house only to make eye contact with Wally. Everytime I look at his eyes, it's as if he's staring right at my soul.. it's so creepy. I break eye contact to look at the pink monster like girl instead.

"Right uh, my name is Julie Joyful! What is your name?" She asked intrigued.

"I'm y/n l/n, I must say your house is very well decorated!" I quickly reply, trying to start small talk.

"Oh! Thank you! I bet yours is even lovelier!" She smiled back.

"Well to be frank with you, I didn't even get to-" Sh*t I was supposed to play along so this yellow tic tac won't kill me. I thought to myself, staring back at Julie. "I didn't even get to buy new decorations yet, heh.." I awkwardly smiled back at her.

"Well when you do finish please let me know! I'd love to see!" She got up from the chair, and to the door, opening it slowly. Me and Wally both got up and headed out the door. She looked back at me, than Wally, and than back at me. Wally was no longer staring at me.

"Invite me over some time! I'd love to have some tea over at your place!" She laughed, inviting herself over.

"No worries, as soon I finish decorating my house you'll be the first person I invite!" I said smiling wider than I have before.

"Have fun meeting everyone else! Toodles!" She shut the door which creaked like it did before.

"Time to meet our next neighbor!" Wally exclaimed, slowly but happily. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder, like he did before and continued his walk to the next house.

As soon as we got into the property of the yellow and green house, Wally dropped his hand off my shoulder and ran up to the door. This time I knocked on the door, and out came a slim, grey skinned human like puppet, with very dark blue hair, a frown, multicolored gingham vest and dark blue tight pants. This is the grumpiest looking neighbor I've seen yet.

"Oh, hello. You're new, guessing of the fact you're not wearing any bright colors." They said with a frown.

"Ahah.. yeah nice to meet you." I smiled, hoping they would smile back. Instead they put out their hand which I reluctantly shook.

"Come in." They said going into the sunflower colored house, which we followed them in. Once we were inside they shut the door. I was fascinated by the amount of butterflies they kept, looking around not only were there a lot of butterflies they also had a great collection of books, which were organized by color in their designated book shelves.

"You like butterflies?" I asked, knowing the answer.

"Yes I guess, I enjoy looking and researching about them." They said frequently looking back at us while studying a blue butterfly.

"I see you got your own little library here at home!" I laughed, hoping it would change their downturned frown. They looked back at me, staring at me and then at the books.

"Oh right, yeah Barnaby said the same thing, funny guy." Their frown slowly faded into a slight smile.

"Barnaby?" I asked.

"Oh, that's right Frank! We haven't got to say hi to Barnaby yet, we must get going!" Wally said, also uneasy due to the awkwardness.

"Oh ok, nice meeting you. If you ever need an answer to your question, I'll be here. Name's Frank Frankly."

"I'm y/n l/n!" I exclaimed, slightly being pushed out of the door by Wally.

"They seemed nice.." I said trying to make small talk on the way to the next house.

"Frank's one of the grumpiest neighbors here, but they're very smart and helpful, and we love them for that!" He smiled. I looked at him and back to the ground, seeing that he was finally looking away.

What seemed like ages, we finally got to the next house. This house was covered in dog paws, as well as lots of blue and orange polka dots onto the door. Wally went ahead and knocked eagerly, as if this was his favorite neighbor. BANG! CRASH! I jumped back from the noise being made inside the house. Then before we could say anything, out came a light blue colored dog, with red, orange, yellow, and dark blue spots covering his body in patches, as well as wearing a multicolored vest and a top hat that he is now holding in his hand.

"Hello there Wally! Who's this!" He exclaimed, putting his hat back on.

"Hi Barnaby!! This is y/n l/n!" Wally replied cheerfully.

"Hi y/n l/n, I'm Barnaby B. Beagle!" He said reluctantly shaking my hand, he let go as I felt my hand going numb.

"Would you like to come in?" He asked, looking at Wally.

"Only if you want!" Wally answered, smiling. Barnaby then opened the door and pushed me and Wally inside. This was the biggest neighbor I've seen yet, he seemed the same height as that bird, Poppy. Due to his height, all the furniture inside the house seemed bigger same with the overall house. I looked around finding lots of balls, heh, big ones and small ones.

"Wanna see a trick?" Barnaby asked, catching onto me staring at the balls on the floor.

"Sure!" I had no idea what to expect, when suddenly he grabbed 4 balls, one bigger than the others. He stood on the bigger ball and started balancing onto it, next thing I knew, he started juggling the 3 balls he had in his hands. I clapped and cheered him on, impressed by the dog's talent. He got off the ball and bowed down, I looked over at Wally and caught him laughing for once.

"That was great like usual! But me and y/n must get going, there is one more person we need to meet!" Wally said smiling back at the now pouting dog.

"Aw, shucks I'll see you guys around then!" Barnaby said, dragging himself to open the door for our way out. We let ourselves out and head to the next place we need to be at. I looked at Wally as we walked away from Barnaby's house, and saw that he was back at staring at me, this time giving me the 'side eye'.

"Why do you always look at me?" I laughed sheepishly.

"Oh sorry." He looked away quickly, clearing his throat with a cough. "I zoned out." We continued walking in the awkward silence, hoping that at some point, there will be a time for me to escape.
