quick breaths escaped my mouth as i ran faster and faster. guards were catching up and i needed a place to hide quick. beidou's ship wasn't too far ahead. i quickly decided to jump into a tree, and when the guards ran past, i glided back down. looking through both sides, i searched for any more guards. seeing none, i started towards beidou's ship.
"haha! reckless as always ain't ya y/n?" beidou's voice boomed across the large float. i laughed as beidou engulfed me in her arms. "ready to head to liyue today?"
"mhm! i got a bunch of stuff for xiangling and xiao." i said as i looked through my bags contents.
"alright," she began, "you should head down to your room before guards see you, i'll tell you when were about to leave, alright?"
i nodded and beidou gently elbowed me towards the lower deck. i walked down and into my room. i sighed as my back hit the hammock. i glanced down at the two visions on my waist. an electro vision sitting next to an anemo vision. i originally had an electro vision, but then an anemo one appeared when he died. i know, it's surprising. both of the visions are still active. i just never use the electro one anymore.
after seeing the raiden shogun kill him i swore to myself that i'd never use the vision ever again.
i looked up at the ceiling, thinking about how xiao would scold me for bringing the wrong items. or how he would scold me for not using my electro vision. he thinks it's a complete waste.
soon, i closed my eyes in attempt to fall asleep. soon enough, everything went blank.
time skip <333
i suddenly woke up to a loud banging on my door.
"y/n, wake up!! theres someone that wants to see you!" a crew member calls through the other end of the door.
"alright! ill be out in a second." i respond, quickly fixing my hair and clothes. i then snatch my bag from the floor and exit the room.
i stepped out onto the deck as wind brushed through my hair.
"Y/N!!" a voice calls out. soon enough, someone's arms are around my figure.
"xiangling!! i missed you!" i say, returning the sudden hug.
xiangling pulls away and grins at me. i wave to beidou, thanking her for the ride and leave the fleet with xiangling. on our way to her restaurant, we meet up with chongyun and xingqiu.
"welcome back y/n!" chongyun waves xiangling and i over to their table.
"hello y/n." xingqiu says, not even bothered to look up from his book.
"you could've at least looked at me when you said hello.." i nudged him on the shoulder.
he simply rolled his eyes and returned his focus onto the book.
"soo, how long are you staying?" xiangling asks, carrying platters and plates of food for us.
"hmm, probably 2-3 weeks? depends on when boss or kuki needs me." i reply as i pick up a piece of fried shrimp from the plate. "kuki is on a trip right now so i probably won't be able to stay for long."
after hours of conversing with everyone, i remember i need to visit xiao at wangshu inn. i thank everyone and take a to-go box full of almond tofu with me.
as i walked through the dirt paths to wangshu inn, i surprisingly hadn't ran into any hilichurls. a happily skipped onwards until i saw the outline of the grand inn. soon, i began sprinting.
"y/n! are you here to meet with xiao?" verr questioned as wrote my name down as a guest.
"yup! is he here right now?" i responded with a smile.
"yea, he's sitting on the balcony as always." she continues, handing me a pass for my room.
"alright, thanks verr!" i say and take the pass from her hands. she waved me off as i made my way up to the balcony.
when i made it up, it was empty. i knew xiao was just hiding somewhere so i placed my things down and sat at the edge of the balcony, my legs dangling off the rim. suddenly, the familiar adeptus appeared next to me. we sat together in silence as we stared up at the sky. the sun was currently setting the breeze was flowing through our hair.
"i brought you some almond tofu." i said, breaking the silence. "you want some?"
"sure." he simply said. i took my bag and took out the box of almond tofu. i handed him the small carton and gave him a pair of chopsticks. thanking me, he began to eat.
"you still haven't used your vision yet, haven't you?" xiao spoke up.
"i told you i'd never use it again. not after what the shogun did."
"he'd be disappointed in you. he trained you with that vision after all."
"i still use some of his techniques, just not with the vision."
"if you don't like it so much, why don't you just get rid of it?"
for some reason, i couldn't answer that question. why couldn't i get rid of my electro vision? it's not like i'll ever use it again.
"if you'll truly never use it again, throw it off this balcony. let a mere pedestrian find it and make use of it."
i unclipped the glowing purple vision from my waist and held it in my hand. my vision began to blur as tears bubbled in my eyes.
"i... i can't do it." i choked out. xiao sighed as he leapt off the railing.
"you still want to use it, but don't have the willpower to do so." he said, throwing away the now empty carton. "once again, think about it." and soon, he had disappeared along with the wind.
i got up, taking my bag and heading to my room.
maybe using the vision wouldn't be so bad..
