Chapter Two

Emily woke up the next morning feeling refreshed, but also a little anxious. She knew she had to face another day at her new school, and the thought of being alone in a sea of strangers was overwhelming.

As she walked to school, she couldn't help but wonder if she would see Harry again. She didn't even know why she was so drawn to him. He was a stranger, a boy she had just met, and yet she couldn't shake the feeling that there was something special about him.

When she arrived at school, she was surprised to see Harry waiting for her by her locker. He smiled when he saw her, and Emily felt her heart race.

"Hey, Emily," he said. "I was wondering if you wanted to walk to class together."

Emily nodded, feeling a sense of relief that she wouldn't have to navigate the crowded hallways alone.

As they walked, Emily tried to make small talk, but she was still nervous around Harry. He seemed to sense her discomfort and tried to put her at ease.

"Are you adjusting to Wolfville okay?" he asked.

Emily shrugged. "It's different. But I guess I'll get used to it eventually."

Harry nodded. "It takes time. But I think you'll like it here. The people are friendly, and there's a lot of natural beauty around."

As they reached their classroom, Harry gave Emily a small smile before heading to his own seat. Emily felt a pang of sadness as he walked away. She didn't want their conversation to end, but she didn't know how to keep it going.

Throughout the day, Emily couldn't stop thinking about Harry. She wondered what he was doing, where he was, and what he was thinking. She couldn't explain it, but she felt like she was drawn to him in a way she had never experienced before.

As the day drew to a close, Emily headed home, feeling tired and overwhelmed. She was still trying to adjust to her new surroundings, and she didn't know how much longer she could keep it up.

As she walked, she couldn't help but feel like she was being followed. She turned around, but no one was there. She shrugged it off, thinking it was just her imagination.

But little did she know, Harry was watching her from a distance, making sure she made it home safely. He knew he shouldn't be so protective of her, but he couldn't help it. There was something about Emily that made him want to keep her safe, to protect her from the dangers of the world.

As Emily reached her front door, she turned around to wave goodbye to Harry, but he was gone. She sighed, feeling disappointed, but also grateful for the brief moments they had shared together. She knew she would see him again, and she couldn't wait to get to know him better.
