Life is hard.

It can tear you apart even before you have the chance to know yourself.

It can fill you up with hopes and dreams just for them to be demolished.

I learned it the hard way.

From past lovers that only knew how to make promises but never keep them.

From friends that I felt closest to but not as close as I thought was enough.

From my own family that promised to make me feel wanted as soon as they laid eyes on my innocent, little face that had just made it's fist contact with the real world.

Life is hard.

They tell you to keep fighting but they themselves are not warriors.

They keep insisting on you trying a little harder.

It's not that I don't love my life...
