Night Changes: Kai Havertz

Chapter 7

Pre-season friendly game on and the Chelsea squad were playing against Sunderland at Kingsmeadow. Kai was already up and in his pre-match gear while Amelia was laid asleep in bed still. Kai decided to leave her to sleep as she was up early again with her morning sickness.

The german was making some breakfast when the brit came downstairs. "Hey gorgeous. How's the morning sickness?" Kai asks as Amelia sits at the kitchen island bar, rubbing her head. "Awful, bubs. This 1st trimester is horrific. My head is killing me, my stomach is right now hating me and my whole body aches." Amelia frowns. "So, you're not coming to watch me and the lads?" Kai asks as Amelia shakes her head. "I think I'm going to stay home and rest." Amelia says as Kai hands her some water.

A mutter of "thank you" leaves the girls mouth before she heads over to the couch. "Kai, can you get me the sick bucket or something." Amelia calls from the living room as she gently massages her stomach, hoping the feeling of nausea rising would pass. "Sure." he responds and not long after enters the living room with the bucket for Amelia. "Thanks bub." Amelia sighs as she keeps the bucket close to her. "Of course, beautiful. I'm going to head to the game now but I'll call you at half time, okay?" Kai says as he sits beside Amelia and wrap an arm around her shoulder. The girl nods as Kai plants a gentle kiss on her forehead before she wraps her arms around his waist. "I love you both, the baby and you." Kai says, resting his chin on the girls head. "We love you too. Now, get to the game. We'll be rooting for you along with Novella and Balou." Amelia smiles as she quickly kisses Kai before he leaves.

THAT EVENING

Following the friendly which the lads won, Kai immediately checked his phone to see if Amelia had messaged or attempted to call him since half time but nothing had been received. "Mrs not called or anything." Mason teases as Kai looks at him. "How did you know?" the german asks the british boy. "You have that other look of disappointment when Amelia doesn't call or message. Maybe she's asleep or busy." Mason suggests as Kai nods. "Maybe." the german nods.

"Kai." a voice calls to him as he's walking towards his car. the german stop in his tracks and turns to see César approaching him. "Hey, Azpi. What's up?" Kai smiles at the captain. "Have you heard from Lia? I've sent her a message to check up on her but haven't heard from her." César asks, concerned knowing the girl isn't well at all. "I called her not long ago and I'm thinking she might be asleep as i had no reply." Kai explains with a shrug as Azpi nods.

"Do you want to come and see her. I'm sure she'd want to see you as well." Kai suggests as César agrees with the idea. "Okay. I'll be round in about half an hour." César says as Kai nods before the pair get into their cars and head home.

As he walks inside, Kai immediately spots his and Amelia's two dogs peacefully asleep while Amelia was laid on the couch, fast asleep herself with South Park playing on the TV. Kai chuckles at the sight of the girl asleep with the bucket on the floor, some water in it from Amelia rinsing it after throwing up. The german slides his shoes off before walking over to the sleeping girl and crouching down infront of her. He gently brushes his hand over the girls hair as she stirs from her slumber.

"Shoot, I didn't wake you did I?" the german asks in a quiet voice. Amelia shakes her head. "No. I didn't even hear you come in to be fair. Morning sickness has me drained." Amelia chuckles as does Kai. "How are you feeling now?" the german asks, gently kissing the girls forehead. "Much better. The aching and everything is gone. I have a OBGYN appointment in the morning aswell for a baby scan." Amelia says as she sits up and Kai sits beside her, wrapping an arm around her waist.

"That's good. Also, Azpi's coming by to see you and check on how your feeling." Kai informs the girl as she nods and cuddles into him, her head laying on his chest. "How was the game?" Amelia asks as she wraps her arms around Kai. "Good. We won 2-1. It was a tight game." Kai responded as Amelia chuckles. "Well, me and baby missed you." Amelia says, looking up at the german and gently kissing his lips.

The two are forced to separate when the doorbell rang. "That'll be Azpi. I'll let him in." Kai says as Amelia nods. Normally at the sound of the doorbell, even if it's the pizza delivery guy, Novella and Balou usually immediately run to the door. After quickly greeting him, Kai and César head to the living room where Amelia is still sat on the couch.

"Hey Azpi." the girl smiles as she stands up and gives the Spaniard a hug. "Hey Lia. How are you feeling?" the captain asks the brit before both of them and Kai sit down on the couch. "Better than this morning. Maybe because I had a nap after half time of the game." Amelia chuckles. "Yeah. It will be tough for you both the first few months but eventually, it'll ease down. I only know that from my wife dealing with it." César chuckles.

"I'm just hoping to be back watching you lot and annoying the hell out of Mase, Chilly and Timo." Amelia laughs as Kai pulls her close to him, her back resting against his chest. "So, how's not training?" César turns to Amelia. "Awful. Plus, I'm constantly throwing up because of this heat. Definitely miss Manchester now." Amelia laughs. "Welcome to London. The heat is awful." César jokes as Amelia and Kai laugh. "Anyway, how was New York?" César asks, wanting to know how the pair enjoyed their vacation.

"It was nice. Kai dragged me to the 9/11 memorial sight so I took him to the top of the Empire State building." Amelia smiles proudly. "I thought I was going to fall." Kai dramatically says. "Mate, stop being dramatic. I had tight hold of you." Amelia rolls her eyes. "Kai's a child. Can't take him anywhere without him freaking out." César jokes as Amelia laughs. "No need. Absolutely uncalled for." Kai fakes to sound offended.

After an hour or two of laughter and conversation, Azpi heads back home and Amelia along with Kai were laid on the couch, the brunette girl laid inbetween the brunette boy's legs with her head laid on his chest. The german had a hand running up and down the girls back as he had the other around her waist. "So, it's the heat that's making you really unwell?" Kai asks as Amelia nods. "Yeah. If I stay in the shade after my appointment then I'll be fine." Amelia says as she has both hands on the german's chest. "Okay. Well, there's no training tomorrow so we can to go the appointment together." Kai smiles as Amelia shoots her head up with a wide smile on her face. "Seriously?" Amelia asks, excitement in her voice. Kai nods before Amelia crashes her lips onto his. "We're going to get to see the baby together." Amelia smiles as Kai nods. "Yes we are." the german nods before Amelia lays her head on Kai's chest again as he places his arms around the girls back.

The couple flip through numerous TV channels before deciding to settle on The Simpsons. After half an episode, Amelia falls asleep as she lays on Kai's chest. Her arms wrapped around his waist as she lightly snored on his chest. The german boy looks at the british girl and softly smiles before gently kissing the top of her head and laying a blanket over them as he turns the volume on the TV down as she sleeps.
