NEW YORK 1911
"So this is where you've been hiding, El?"
A middle aged man stood at the door of his son's bedroom. He looked over to the young brunette who was sat on his bed, holding a book in his hands.
His son, El, gave a short nod in response. His father approached him by his bedside.
"I was calling for you just now. Didn't you hear?" He placed his hand on his hip as his son responded.
"I couldn't answer you.." he said, flipping the page "things are 'bout to get good.."
The boy's father grunted.
"What are we going to do about this veracious appetite for books?" He said, leaning forward to take the novel from his son's hands. "Lets see..what's the latest distraction..? A Sherlock Holmes mystery, eh?"
The boy looked up at his father, reading the title of his new favourite book. "I never could quite understand the appeal for these detective stories.." he said, flipping through the pages.
He eventually came across an illustration of a woman. A beautiful woman at that.
He flipped to the previous page, eyes landing on none other than Professor Moriarty, the rival of the great Sherlock Holmes.
Our story, however, begins with neither. Instead, this tale follows the story of the only woman with an intellect to rival both the infamous napoleon of crime and the greatest detective of all time.

The woman from (home country) that had the entire British empire at her feet.
