The sun was just starting to set over Beacon Academy as Ruby Rose and Jaune Arc made their way back to their dorm room. It had been a long day of training and classes, and both of them were exhausted. They had been assigned to work together on a group project, and despite their initial reluctance, they had quickly become fast friends.

As they walked through the halls, Jaune couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness and contentment. He had never had a friend like Ruby before. She was kind, funny, and always seemed to know just how to make him feel better.

"Thanks for helping me out today, Jaune," Ruby said, breaking the silence. "I don't know what I would have done without you."

"Hey, no problem," Jaune replied with a grin. "We make a pretty good team, don't we?"

Ruby nodded, her silver eyes shining in the dim light. "Yeah, we do."

They arrived at their dorm room, and Jaune opened the door. As they stepped inside, Ruby let out a yawn, stretching her arms above her head.

"I'm so tired," she said, flopping down onto her bed.

Jaune chuckled, sitting down next to her. "Tell me about it. I think I'm going to crash as soon as my head hits the pillow."

Ruby smiled, turning to face him. "You know, Jaune, I'm really glad we're friends."

Jaune felt his face grow warm, and he couldn't help but smile back. "Me too, Ruby."

There was a moment of silence, and Jaune felt his heart rate increase. He had never felt this way before with anyone, not even Pyrrha. It was as if Ruby had cast some sort of spell on him, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he wanted to be more than just friends.

As if sensing his thoughts, Ruby leaned in closer, her hand reaching out to touch his. "Jaune, there's something I want to talk to you about."

Jaune swallowed nervously, his heart pounding in his chest. "What is it?"

Ruby took a deep breath, her eyes locked onto his. "I know we've only known each other for a short time, but I feel like there's something between us. Something more than just friendship."

Jaune felt his heart skip a beat, and he couldn't believe what he was hearing. Was Ruby saying what he thought she was saying?

"I feel it too, Ruby," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Ruby smiled, her hand still clasping his. "I'm glad. Because I really like you, Jaune."

Jaune felt his entire body light up with joy, and he couldn't help but lean in closer. Their lips met in a soft, gentle kiss, and Jaune felt as if he was on top of the world.

For the rest of the night, they talked and laughed together, their hands intertwined. Jaune couldn't believe how happy he was, and he knew that he never wanted this moment to end.

Over the next few weeks, Jaune and Ruby's relationship blossomed. They spent all their free time together, exploring the campus and going on adventures. Jaune had never been happier, and he knew that he had found his soulmate in Ruby.

One afternoon, they were sitting in the courtyard, enjoying the warm sunshine. Ruby had her head resting on Jaune's shoulder, and he was running his fingers through her hair.

"Jaune, there's something I have to tell you," Ruby said suddenly, sitting up.

Jaune looked at her, concern etched on his face. "What is it?"

Ruby took a deep breath, her eyes locked onto his. "I haven't been entirely honest with you. There's something you need to know about me."

Jaune felt a sense of dread settle in his stomach. What could Ruby possibly be hiding from him?

"I'm listening," he said, trying to keep his voice steady.

Ruby took another deep breath. "I'm not entirely human. I'm a faunus."

Jaune's eyes widened in surprise, and he couldn't believe what he was hearing. Ruby had always seemed so human to him, and he had never suspected that she was anything else.

"Are you okay?" Ruby asked, her voice soft.

Jaune nodded, still trying to process everything. "I'm...I'm fine. I just didn't expect that."

Ruby smiled, relief evident on her face. "I'm glad. I was worried you wouldn't understand."

Jaune shook his head, taking her hand in his. "Ruby, it doesn't matter to me what you are. You're still the same person I fell in love with."

Ruby leaned in, kissing him softly. "I knew there was a reason I loved you so much."

They sat there for a while longer, basking in the sunshine and each other's company. Jaune couldn't help but feel as if he and Ruby were meant to be together, no matter what obstacles came their way.

As the sun began to set, they made their way back to their dorm room, hand in hand. Jaune knew that he had found his true love in Ruby, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
