We recruited Cara to our cause. She was hesitant at first, but she soon agreed. I'd like to say that it was because she cared for the wellbeing of the town but I knew that it was more to do with boredom. Sorgan was peaceful and quiet, exactly what an ex-shock trooper and two fugitives on the run needed but there was little to do. That was something I could tell from the moment I landed on the planet.

"I still don't think we should be doing this," I muttered to Mando, riding in the back of a small carriage.

"They said the town's in the middle of nowhere," Din explained. "It's somewhere to lay low."

"With raiders?" I questioned, noticing how he let out a heavy breath. "We don't know what we're walking into."

"How bad can it be?" he retaliated, sending a quick glance towards the green child that sat beside us. "He needs a safe place."

I couldn't argue with that. Despite wanting to, I decided that keeping my mouth shut was the best course of action. I wanted somewhere safe for the kid as well, I did, but I had been on the run too long to not know that staying in one place was never the right thing to do.

"Everyone, they're here!" one of the men in the front of the carriage exclaimed.

I watched as maybe a dozen villagers rushed towards us. The carriage stopped and I was the first out, already reaching for the child and taking him into my arms. The small creature squirmed, and I quietly hushed him.

"Behave now kid," I told him. "I don't know how safe this town is."

"He's so cute," a small kid squealed, clearly talking about the small child in my arms. They rushed around me, a dozen tiny hands reaching for the creature on my hip.

I pulled back slightly, trying to keep him out of their grasp. "Mando," I called out, turning towards him. "Help."

He only stood there, arms folded. I couldn't see behind his beskar helmet, but I knew that he was smirking. I sighed, turning back to the children.

"Look, kids. Can we just... back up a bit?" I posed.

"Children," a different voice shot, sterner than mine had been and yet kinder as well. "Leave the poor woman alone."

They obeyed her, deflating with disappointment but rushing off to return to what they had been doing before we arrived. The dark-haired woman approached me.

"I'm Omera," she introduced.

"Aria," I replied.

She sent a small glance towards Din before returning her gaze to me. "Please, follow me. I will show you to your lodging."

"Thank you."

Mando approached my side as the woman let us across the small village. It was beautiful. I hadn't seen so much life in a long time. Not since Endor, and I hadn't returned there since the war ended.

"What was that about?" I asked Din in a hushed whisper.

"What was what about Solo?"

"You could have helped me with the kids," I explained, adjusting the child on my hip.

"You had it handled."

"I don't like kids."

"And yet you helped me steal this one," he added, gesturing to the small green creature in my arms.
