Nature Reserve

Sonic was staring at the fox pup that was in the bassinet, he was laying on the operating table getting his bite wound stitched up so that it can scar properly. He never really seen a white fox before...or one that was born with two tails. He looked over at Kimberly who was just wiping away the blood from the bite mark that she was stitching up, at the moment she was busy with checking on the other wounds that was on his body, she already knew it was to late to help heal them since they were permanent, but she also didn't want Sonic have an infection.

"Okay...that should scar normally" Kimberly said as she walked towards the sink that was in her clinic.

Sonic's eyes refocused on the pup, he jumped down from the metal table trotting over to the bassinet, he started sniffing at the clear plastic barrier, the pup still had that newborn scent to it, his ears only pinned to his skull when he saw that pup barely moved, it's breathing was normal since he saw the small raising and falling of the tiny creatures chest.

When Kimberly turned around to help Sonic off of the table she almost screamed, when she saw the hedgehog had removed the plastic barrier from the bassinet, having his muzzle up close to the sleeping pup, but she calm down seeing that Sonic was just check on the pup.

"He's okay Sonic...just needs a lot of time to grow" Kimberly said.

Sonic only lets out a small whimper, sure this wasn't his kid...but his motherly instincts started to kick in, he wanted to protect this pup.

"Come on Sonic...I bet Zero is waiting for you" Kimberly said as she pulled the hedgehog away from the bassinet, so she can put the plastic barrier back onto it. It was gonna be a while before the pup actually started to show signs or at least effort to at least move, and make noise. With the IV providing the pup with the nutrients that it would normally get when it was drink it's mother's milk, it should only least a week before the pup is able to actually make noises.

Sonic nodded as he understood.

After he had a small bath, and a proper groom. He ran over to his mate who was waiting for him outside of the building...it was just so he didn't attack Kimberly when he heard Sonic whimper, cause of the pain.

Zero nuzzles into Sonic's cheek, before giving it small licks, as well as taking in that sweet scent though the soups and other products were kind of blocking the scent...he was still able to smell it.

Kimberly smiled softly at the two predators...she was glad that her parents let her start this project, she made a lot of friends got to help a lot of mobian hybrids.

This place was like a home that she always wanted.

"Is there anything I need to know?" Zero asked.

"No he's perfectly healthy, just a little stubborn when it comes to not moving cause hes sore" She admits. "But I'll have to check on him...three months from now, just to see if he is carrying"

Zero nodded as he motions to Sonic to follow him, the blue hedgehog smiled and followed after the jackal.

Kimberly closed the door before turning her attention back to the empty clinic. She lets out a small sigh...she was kind of hoping it doesn't come to that since she was unsure how Sonic would handle the pregnancy, or if he would be mentally stable to watch over his cubs.
