|STABLES|

Hazel swiftly left the classroom as she saw the core four's parents on the video call but not hers. It's weird. She didn't miss her, but she hoped.

Hope 'is' a dangerous thing.

She jumped as her arms went around her waist, but she instantly calmed down as she heard that deep chuckle and a chin rest on her shoulder.

She smacked his hand. "You scared me." She felt him smile. "Well, that was the intention, sweetheart."

She rolled her eyes. Knox dangled a chocolate bar in front of her. She grabbed it and turned around. She put her arm on his shoulders while he kept his arms around her waist. As soon as their eyes met, they rested their foreheads against each other's.

Knox plants a kiss on her cheek, his thumb caressing the spot on the red tint that appears after. "What's wrong?"

"How you know?" She always wondered how he always knows something is wrong in her head. She worried, what if her mind gets so stormy and her mind cracks and she crumbles. Would he leave? What would he even say-

"Hey. Hey." Knox grabs her face by both hands. "Come back to me." He stared deeply in her eyes.

She snapped out of her thoughts. Knox's eyebrows furrow in worry, he press a kiss on her forehead. She closes her eyes in content.

He pulls back and asks, "Now tell me, what's wrong?"

She touches his hand on her face. "As you know, our parents can't visit us on campus. We were granted a video call. Everyone was there, but not my Mom."

"Oh." He frowned. "Was she angry with you for leaving?"

She scoffed. "No. She wanted me to leave." She bites her lip. She can't tell the reason her Mom throwed her here. Knox will never trust her. "Mom is Mom, ya'know. She controlled my diet, she hit me whenever I disobeyed, she never listened to me, due to her I, I got mentally ill. I read books on psychology, and I was interested in it. I know its lame and I'm not a doctor, but I note down some symptoms and note down some mental illnesses I might have. I just did that to give a label to my mindness for once."

"If you want, we can go to a psychologist or a psychiatrist? Just for your peace. If you want to pursue a career in psychology, we can also work on that." Knox suggested.

"Really?" Knox was awed as he saw a light, a sparkle in her eyes. He nodded. "Really."

"And don't you worry, your mother won't harm you in any way again. I'll be with you -"

"But this all project would end one day." She cut him off.

He shook his head. "No. That's not it. Sweetheart, I never imagined I would meet someone whom I would have a connection with, but when I saw those hazel eyes. I fell. I fell for you."

"Knox." She breathed. He presses his forehead against hers.

"Sweetheart, will you do the honour to be mine?" He whispers.
