I was a hot day in Portland. Today I was going down to this pool with my friend, Kitty Song Covey. Whilst I was trying to tan more, Kitty was trying to call her boyfriend in Seoul, Dae. The two of us were currently holding secret, Kitty and I. Not me and Dae. The secret being the two of us had applied for this school, KISS. That was just the acronym but I'd got in and so far we were just waiting for Kitty's results.

"Hello. This is she. Oh, my God. Yes. Twenty-four hours. I understand. Yes. I officially accept. Thank you so much. Yes!" I heard Kitty say and I moved to the pool edge and sat down.

"What happened?" I asked her with a smile and she looked at me.

"I got in! We're going to Korea together!" She shouted at me and I jumped in the pool.

"The two of us, immersed in our culture and you can finally be with your boy." I said to her with a smile and that just meant the two of us had a conversation to have. We then went to our separate homes. We'd had presentations made. "Umma! Appa! We need to talk!" I shouted and I looked at the two of them as they appeared.

"Well, whatever it is. We're listening." Dad said to me and I started my presentation.

"Now, I Y/n Hwang have an announcement. The other day is was looking at your pictures of when you first met and I saw the uniform in one the pictures. I got interested and searched it up. This leads me to the main thing. I saw that the school was in Korea and I realized that even though this is a Korean household I feel out of touch with where I come from. So I thought I'd apply for the same school. So I did I took a chance and applied for KISS or the Korean Independent School of Seoul, as you know it's one of the top schools in Korea and you know this because you went. I got in and I leave soon." I said to them and they all looked at each other.

"How long have you been doing all this?" Appa asked me and I looked at him.

"Only about a month." I said to him and he looked at me with a smile. He wanted to me to go.

"And how long have you known about your place?" Umma asked me and I looked at her.

"Also a month but I didn't want to say anything until I knew that Kitty got in and she did. We'll be fine. I can translate everything and I won't be alone. Think about it all my Eemo's are there along with halmeoni. I'll be fine." I said to them all and they looked at each other.

"It's not like we can say 'no' Bora. She wants to know more about where she's come from and that's normal. I was her age when I left for Seoul and look how well that turned out." Appa said and Umma looked at the two of us.

"I'll let you go, only if you call us every week. No joining any of those companies either if they approach say no. Most importantly, no boys." She said to me and I looked at her and then dad.

"But you met dad there, why's it different for me." I said to her and they both looked at each other.

"It would be a bit hypocritical to say no boys. How about no boys unless we can meet them over videocall." Appa said and I crossed my arms. I guess that was better than anything.

"Deal. I promise I'll be safe." I said to them both and I saw my brothers coming down the stairs. My sister was currently out.

"Boys, your sister is leaving for Seoul soon." Umma said to them and they both looked at me. They were both older than me. Only visiting for a week.

"We'll miss you but save us a couch when we visit." My oldest brother, Hyuk said to me and I hugged him.

"I will." I said to him and he smiled at me.

"Don't forget us." Chris said to me and I shook my head at him and laughed.

"How could I." I said to him and that night I went to pack everything up that I was taking with me. We left tomorrow. The next day we would be off.
