We were told that life gets better with time.

Time will heal all wounds was something I heard so often it was numbing as soon as it touched my ears.

My healing didn't start with time.

It started with you.

With your ocean eyes that reminded me to stay calm.

Your pale skin that reminded me of how soft the world can be.

Your soft voice that reminded me of silk.

I didn't know a voice would remind me of anything kind.

So when I think of time

I would say time wasn't kind to me

Time didn't solve my hurting.

But

Time lead me to you. 🩵
