Finally, part 3 of Tim and Dog's adventures is here and I hope you guys enjoy it.

I, for one, had a lot of fun writing it out and I love these two to bits.

The darkness was broken up by dull white patches and he blinked, trying to clear his vision. It didn't hurt as bad as earlier and he felt numb due to the medication. He knew he was in the med bay of the cave as he stared up at the ceiling but then felt something furry close to his hand.

Surprised, he looked down and saw Dog curled up into a ball close to him. Tim took in a deep breath, just then realizing that the puppy had been concerned for him and was there the entire time he was passed out.

His heart melted and very gently, he reached out to pat the dog's head. Feeling the movement, Dog jolted awake and seeing Tim looking at him, he excitedly bounced close to him, ready to lick his face in relief that he was alright.

Tim recoiled for a second but then seeing how Dog was quite literally giving him puppy eyes, he had to give in, "alright fine. I can allow this but only for today."

A delighted bark sounded and Dog licked his face, nuzzling its head close to him. Tim was surprised that he didn't feel as disgusted as he thought or perhaps it was due to the fact that he too started to get fond of the happy little creature.

"What is this I see? Is the ever-stubborn Tim Drake finally allowing himself to get fond of Dog?"

Duke's voice startled him and he looked up to see the boy enter with a thermos of coffee and a cup. Tim's eyes lit up to see that and he sat up, putting Dog down in his lap.

"Okay, maybe you were right and I do like him," Tim remarked, stroking the puppy's head affectionately, "and it seemed like he stayed with me ever since I was brought in here so of course, I am not heartless enough to shoo him off after that."

"He did," he replied, "Jason was just telling all of us how sad Dog had gotten to see you, he swears there were tears in his eyes."

"Oh..."

"See, there's a reason why it's said that a dog is a man's best friend," Duke gave a cookie to Dog who happily accepted it, letting him stroke its head too, "they are loyal creatures and you're lucky he cares for you so much."

"It surprises me why he cares so much... There's nothing to like about me..."

"Oh shut it, Tim, you have no right to depress everyone with your self-degrading thoughts. Here, drink some coffee so that you can come back to normal."

"Thanks," he accepted the cup, still looking down at the brown and white puppy who had bounced off the bed by then and was trotting around Duke's feet.

"If you're feeling better and are able to walk around, you should come up to the Manor for breakfast."

Tim nodded, stretching his limbs to judge if he could feel pain or not. He was used to the slight aching either way so he decided to accompany Duke and Dog upstairs.

"Okay, let me finish at least two more cups then you are taking me with you."

Tim recovered soon as he was quite accustomed to getting hurt on patrol. But there had been a new rather unexpected development.

Instead of Dog following him everywhere, the puppy started to ignore him. Tim couldn't understand why he was being avoided right then as Dog had been quite infatuated with him when he was avoiding him but now that he had finally started to get fond of Dog, the puppy seemed to be having payback.

"Hey, you used to like me," Tim grumbled in annoyance, seeing Dog spend time with Damian instead, "come back here."

"Maybe he just realized what a nuisance you are, Drake, and being the clever little creature he is, he selected the better company," Damian replied and Tim was horrified to see a smile on the boy's features.

It was a very known fact that Damian never smiled but seeing his lips turn upward with such a soulless look in his eyes made him feel creeped out.

"What the fuck, Damian? Stop smiling at my dilemma."

"You brought this on yourself."

Tim sat down close to them but Dog trotted closer to Damian, eating from the bowl that Damian placed down.

"Why...?"

Damian was rather amused to see Tim being tormented but he took pity on him and decided to tell him what actually was going on, "can't you see, Drake? He's giving you an attitude because he feels you were a dumb idiot for getting hurt on patrol and causing him so much worry."

Tim was surprised to hear that, "wait, what?"

"Yes. So now that you are fond of him, he's taking it to his advantage and teaching you a lesson," he patted its head gently and turned to talk to the puppy, "that's very smart of you, Dog. This idiot deserves to be taught a lesson or else he will keep on finding more ways to get himself killed."

"Hey, stop that," blue eyes flickered in annoyance, "you stole my friend away from me and are now corrupting him. I won't ever forget this, Damian, you will have to pay."

"Do whatever you want. I was only trying to help here but that's clearly not needed when you have vowed to stay a brainless idiot for the rest of your life."

Tim looked so forlorn at the moment that Damian rolled his eyes, once again realizing that he and Dog weren't much different. Both of them had the ability to be clingy little nuisances but then grew on the people they were fond of until the other person gave in.

"Just don't get hurt on patrol again and Dog will stop treating you like this," Damian suggested, "he still cares for you. So stop freaking out."

Damian patted the puppy's head and stood up, leaving the room. While Tim stared at Dog who was still avoiding him.

"Hey, if this is because of me getting hurt that night then fine, I am sorry. I won't do that again," Tim gave up, bending to be at eye level with the dog, "but stop ignoring me like I don't exist or I will go back to being how I was with you earlier. I swear."

Dog stared back as if making sure the apology was genuine. Tim held the stare and then without warning, the puppy jumped on him, licking his face all over.

"Dog, this is not fair! Stop it!"

Tim had toppled down on his back with Dog sitting on his chest and barking contently as if it had won that round of making Tim agree not to get himself hurt again.

"Though I have to say, you are a bit like me," Tim mumbled, ruffling the puppy's head affectionately, "how about next time, I'll take you out with me on patrol? You can make sure I don't get hurt yourself."

"Woof!" The dog barked excitedly, trotting in circles with its little paws in excitement.

A camera flash startled Tim out of his conversation with Dog and he tilted his head to see Jason in the doorway with his instant camera. The picture got developed shortly after that he held out for Tim to see.

"This is definitely going up in our family yearbook," Jay remarked with a wink, pocketing it before Tim could come and snatch it from him.

"Hey, give that back!" Tim sat up and Dog too got off him, waiting to be told what to do. Tim looked down at his little friend, a mischievous idea forming in his head as he smiled and said, "get him, Dog."

"Woof!"

And the next instant, Dog had bolted out of the room full speed after Jason.
