dwsmoreno Lance and I have decided to be honest with you all. I would like to preface this by saying that we love each other and are still engaged. I know some of you have suspected this but we believe you all have a right to know. The engagement was fake. At the very beginning, at least. Someone close to me was heading down a bad path so we thought it best to show her what stability and a good relationship looked like. Of course, there was also a bit of financial trouble with my dad's company, so a public shocker engagement would attract more attention and sponsors than me dating someone.
On the other side, Lance needed someone to support him. He moved around a lot and most of his closest friends and family are racing-centric, and it wasn't healthy - there were no breaks. Since we both needed a partner and our families are friends, the answer was simple; the two of us would get engaged. It didn't take long for my friend to work out what was happening and call me out, but by that point, I knew I loved him. We talked about it and agreed to keep up the act, not picking up on how desperate we both were. I didn't want to let him go again and, looking back, I'm glad he didn't let me.
We still have no plans to tell the public any of this, and I doubt we ever will. We felt those closest to us deserved the truth behind it all, and we hope you respect our wishes.
Te amo mucho mi vida🤍
