MASON'S POV

I look down at Maya laying on my chest, peacefully sleeping.

I close my eyes, allowing exhaustion to take over me. Before I can fall asleep I hear my phone ring next to me.

I rub my eyes with my hand before reaching over to my phone, reading the screen.

Olivia.

I hover my thumb over the answer button, before hesitantly pressing the screen.

"What do you want?" I whisper into the phone.

"Meet me near the stables, now" she states sternly.

"What?"

"You heard me"

"I-"

She cuts me off and ends the call.

I scoop my hand under Maya's head, slowly sliding her off of my chest and laying her head down on the pillow next to me, tucking loose strands of hair behind her ear.

Being careful not to wake her, I slowly get up from the bed, grabbing my phone and putting on my sliders.

I look down at the bright screen.

22:10

I reach out and grab the handle of my door, looking back at her.

Shaking my head, I open the door and step out into the cold corridor.

I find her by stables.

"What the fuck is this about?" I ask as I step closer to her.

She crosses her arms and looks up at me angrily.

"I know" she bites out.

My face contorts in confusion.

"Know what?"

"I know. About you and her"

My heart drops slightly.

"Who?" I play dumb.

"Maya."

Shit.

"What are you talking about?" I ask in an accusing tone.

"Be smart about this Mason"

I step closer, looking down at her.

"Be smart about what?"

"We can fix this, I'll forgive you and we can go back to how we were, how we used be" she states, the tone of her voice pleading slightly.

I run my hand through my hair, sighing loudly.

"What the fuck Olivia" I huff, turning away from her.

She brings her hand up to my shoulder, attempting to turn me back to face her, but I shrug her off and begin walking away.

"Mason!" She shouts after me.

I turn back to her, closing the space between us and raising my finger in front of her face.

"You know nothing."

She opens her mouth to speak, but I leave before she has the chance.

Maya stirs from her sleep as the mattress sinks beneath my weight. I wrap my arms around her waist and bring her closer to me.

"Where did you go?" She mumbles into my chest.

"Just for some air" I whisper, running my fingers through her hair.

"Okay" she answers, contently.
