While Amy was found by their aunt and uncle before she one day went to Little Planet and got kidnapped by Metal Sonic resulting in her being saved by Sonic, Ivy was found and adopted by Esmeralda, a gypsy and fortune teller who was a friend of her parents who taught her and Amy how to use tarot cards. Esmeralda raised her and taught her how to be a gypsy and fortune teller. One day she heard recognized Amy on the news helping the Sonic Team so she went search for her and she reunited with Amy shortly beforethe events of Sonic o6.
