Thirty Eight

It had been a couple of months since the Preliminaries, the bright and colourful spring had finally changed to the hot and muggy summer. It was the middle of August, it was still hot enough to wear short clothes, but the temperature was starting to cool down a bit.

Byeol felt the perspiration forming on her exposed stomach as she drove to the Dream house. Byeol's short hair was tied with an elastic, short baby hairs, falling out, framing her face and the back of her neck.

"What's the plan for tonight?" Hyuck says through the phone, sitting on his own bed with his phone on speaker, laying on his chest.

The past couple of months had been spent the same as before; racing, working and a whole lot of spending time with Dream. Byeol had changed her work schedule to work four ten-hour days while having Friday off, meaning she got to spend the whole day with the guys.

She mainly spent her Fridays curled up in bed with Hyuck watching movies or going on cute dates, tonight would be no different – after the race, of course.

Donghyuck, Jaemin, Jeno and Renjun had been racing a lot the past two months, gaining enough points to be able to knock a few people out of the top 15 racers. Knocking Jiwoo, Eric, Sunwoo and Joshua out of the Semi Finals and replacing them.

Tonight, was the Semi-Finals and Byeol had decided to do something special for Hyuck after the race. "After I win first place and destroy you and Dream." Byeol says with a giant smirk, loving to tease her boyfriend. "We are going to jump in the car and drive away for a getaway."

"Are you not going to give me any hints?" Hyuck tries to pry, hoping to find out where Byeol was taking him for the weekend.

"Oh god no," She laughs. "You have to be patient, honey."

"You know patience and Hyuck don't go in the same sentence together." He says, referring to himself in the third person, knowing how much of a pet peeve that was for Byeol.

"I'm pulling up to your house now, I'll see you in a second. I love you." Byeol says, parking her car in the garage, next Hyuck's.

"I love you, Dal." Hyuck says, hanging up the phone.

Byeol grabs her leather duffle bag from the passenger seat of her vehicle, it was full of clothes for the weekend away. She tucked her car keys into the back pocket of her shorts, midnight black lanyard hanging down.

She walked up the interior staircase, entering straight into the living room. What the girl didn't expect was to see another two females in the house.

The short blonde hair girl with lavender highlights was sitting in front of Chenle, between his legs while her back rested against them. He was teaching Winter how to play the current game that was on the screen. 

Jisung sat awkwardly next to the long bleached blonde girl, Ningning wasn't sitting close to the tall male, yet Byeol could still see the rosy complexion on her cheeks. Jisung was also trying to show the girl how to use the controller, very awkwardly.

Byeol felt like she needed to be a big sister in this moment, because that's how she felt with Jisung, like he was younger brother, one she never had. Byeol sneaked over to the couch, leaning down and whispering in his ear.

"Stop being shy, wrap your arms around her, move closer. She likes you." She whispered, causing Jisung to slightly jump at the contact.

Jisung's cheeks turned a darker shade of pink, giving a quick and shy nod to Byeol. She stepped away, towards the stairs, she watched as Jisung took her advice. She smiled to herself before walking up the stairs and into Hyuck's room.
