"Now did you think it all through,
all these things will catch up to you," —Bad Blood, by Taylor Swift

It's been a couple of days since Tarra had been allowed back in the field. She had to go through many different procedures and tests, like physical and psych evaluations. Which—for the most part—she passed with flying colors. Tarra still couldn't run a lot, but she was allowed to shadow and help Joe and Eddie with their assignments.

She still had been avoiding Barry for the most part, and eventually, he seemed very busy trying to talk to her, which kind of made Tarra a little frustrated. She ended up texting him so they could meet up and talk about everything—something they needed to do. Barry didn't know everything yet. He probably hadn't learned that her mother died, or that she was still recovering from being in a coma. She'd asked Joe, Iris, Arden and everyone at work to keep it to themselves.

Tarra was sitting at Jitters, where they planned to meet at. She was sipping her cappuccino, anxiously waiting for Barry to arrive. She put it off for as long as possible, but she didn't want it to be awkward when they both had to go to the gala for Iris' thing this afternoon.

After about 10 minutes of waiting, finishing her drink, and another 20 minutes, Joe called her. She picked up immediately.

Joe said, "New crime scene." That was all she needed to hear to jump out of her seat and get in her car. She was glad there was another case. As she drove, Joe gave her the directions to the location, and then he asked:

"Is Barry with you? Weren't you at Jitters with him?" With those words, Tarra realized she had briefly forgotten that Barry stood her up. It wasn't a date or anything, but it was planned in advance and they needed to talk things out. And they were friends who had plans to hang out. She was now—once again—mad at Barry.

"Nope. He's not here," she replied, a little too evident of her anger with her friend. Tarra tried to change the subject, "I'm pulling into the parking lot now."

"Okay. I have to call Barry. We need CSI on this ASAP." Joe said before hanging up.

Tarra got out of her car and walked under the yellow tape around the small store. She showed her her badge her the person in front of the door, to prove she was a detective.

"You look a little young to be a detective," the man was suspicious of her. She just smiled—not a friendly one— and replied.

"I am a detective. Detective Joe West called me to investigate this crime scene so get out of my way," Tarra was in no mood for arguing, she already has a short temper, and she doesn't need any more problems today.

The man let her go, and when she walked inside, Eddie was talking to possibly a witness, and Joe was on the phone. Most probably talking to Barry.

"...I got a fresh crime scene, a dead body, detectives interviewing witnesses—" Tarra could hear the sarcasm in Joe's voice from the other side of the store, "—miles of that yellow tape stretched over everything. I'm only missing one thing. Can you guess what that is?" Tarra couldn't hear Barry on the other line, but she knew it was him. He's the only CSI agent in their precinct. He does his job well, but he's always been late.
