~ PROLOGUE: A NEW JOURNEY BEGINS ~

A Sergal in a Labcoat clenches his palm around a ball-shaped item and smiles, "I've finally done it. I can't believe it. Finally, after so much research, I can now bring both creatures of the past & future to the present world of Anrix; oh, what an amazing breakthrough. All Anrix shall name me the amazing professor of Anrix to be one of the first to bring both peace and harmony of two worlds into the modern times of our world." He jumps about in happiness until it is cut short by a sudden blaring alarm. "What an error code, impossible!" he runs to his computer and reads the error code on his screen. "It can't be; the entire system is going haywire; I must get out of here quickly!"

He quickly goes to his computer. "I have to put this place on lockdown; it's the only way to prevent any more harm to my research." He records a message on his tape recorder "If anyone can hear this message, I'm Professor Steele and have something to report; I've done it. I've created the perfect invention that can bring peace & harmony." An explosion occurs behind him, causing him to pause. "This may be my last recording, but if any brave souls are bound to journey into the depths of my location, you must be strong & have the courage of a lion; there are dangers down here that you won't imagine. This is Professor Steele signing off."

(City of Anrix)

A female wolf wakes up and goes through her computer, looking at her social media & news. "Hmm, what's this news article?" she double-clicks on it and reads it. "It is about a mysterious transmission sent out around the world. I wonder what that transmission was?" she logs out of her internet and hears her door being knocked on. "Millie, are you awake? You are going to miss your first interview with your new coworkers?"

Millie shouts at the door, Yeah, Dad, I'm awake; I was reading the world news today." She grabs her bag and then hears her father's voice. "Well, make it quick, princess; I have a gift for you to be safe on the trail when you get out and about." Millie giggles. "Ok, Dad, here I come." She puts on her jacket, steps out of her room & hears her father's voice. "Your lunch bag is on the kitchen table; meet me at the front yard once you've picked it up, ok, Millie." Millie grabs her lunch bag, puts it in her backpack, and then heads to the front yard to talk to her father. "Ok, Dad, what did you want to give me before I leave?"

An Umbreon suddenly tackles Millie & laughs. "Tamao, where did you come from?" she giggles as Tamao licks her face. "Ah no, Tamao, not the licks, I just showered!" she hears her father's voice "Tamao, there you are, oh and I see you found Millie, good job, buddy." Tamao leaps off Millie, runs off to a red & white skull dog, and circles around him happily. "Excited for your first day at work?"

Millie smiles at her father and hears his whistle, "Well, I shouldn't hold you any longer here; you can't just go out in the world without your very own companion." Millie looks at her father, confused. "What do you mean by a companion?" Voodoo smiles. "Well, as you see, I have Tamao by my side everywhere I go. You'll never know when you'll have to protect yourself from the many dangers in our home, so I want you to have your very own companion."

Millie smiles. "Dad, you mean it. I get to have a companion like yours?" voodoo nods. "Follow me; someone wants to meet you." Millie follows her father to the house, where a sleeping white fox with six tails rests on a couch under the air conditioner. "Meet the Alolan Vulpix, Millie." Millie smiles as she looks at the fox and smiles. "wow, such a beautiful fox, as beautiful as me." She smiles and then goes over to the fox. "Wait, Millie, before you wake up, vulpix here; you'll need one of these." Millie looks at her father. "This is a Pokeball; this keeps any type of Pokémon you catch safe & sound, especially when on the go." Millie looks at the Pokeball in her father's paw & takes it from him. "a Pokeball, huh, she looks at the sleeping fox and then notices it's waking up.

"Hi there, Vulpix." Millie gives the fox a gentle smile, then notices the fox let out a big yawn and lock eyes with her. "Now, Millie, it's your job to use that Pokeball to catch the vulpix, and once you catch them, you will need to bond with them just as much as you've seen me bond with Tamao. Remember when I first caught him? It's up to you to do the same with vulpix; you can do it. I believe in you." Millie nods, then looks at vulpix. "Vulpix, will you be my partner & companion as we explore the world of Anrix together?"

"That's it, Millie." Millie lets out her paw and then hears a soft happy growl from the Vulpix that places its paw in hers and smiles back. "I'm going to name you Aurora borealis; what do you say, vulpix?" the six-tailed fox yips happily, then jumps on Millie's shoulder and rubs its head against hers. "You like that name, don't you." Aurora yips happily, then leaps off Millie's shoulder to a more open spot so she can catch them. "Well, Millie, now throw that Pokeball and catch vulpix. But before you do that, here is your second gift: your new upgraded rotom phone. It has been fully equipped with brand new things from the previous generation phone, now catch vulpix and make them your official partner." Millie nods and then sees Aurora grooming themselves. "Ok, Aurora, ready to be my new partner?"

Aurora yips happily, then stands tall and mighty, ready for Millie to catch them. "Now, Millie, throw that Pokeball!" Millie nods and tosses the Pokeball at Aurora in a beautiful curve ball, capturing Aurora in seconds.

"Great throw Millie; that's the perfect way to capture other Pokémon quicker. Great work." Millie smiles, then walks over to the Pokeball and picks it up. "Aurora, come on out." A sudden burst of light blue energy appears from the Pokeball, and Aurora appears and happily yips & jumps around Millie.

"Well, look at you, princess, you are going to make a great team with Aurora. Well, princess, it's time to embark on a brand-new journey. I decided to add a few more Pokeballs to catch more Pokémon in your bag for you." Millie smiles at Voodoo & wags her tail happily; she then feels Aurora jump on her shoulder and rub heads with her. "Aurora, ready to head on an adventure?" Aurora yips happily. "Be safe when you travel out there, princess; if you need anything else, I'm always a phone call away."

Millie smiles, then notices Tamao approaching her and rubs his body around her legs. "Well, Tamao, I'll see you later, ok, and keep Dad safe." Tamao roars happily. "Dad, I'll see you later, too, okay." She hugs him and smiles. "Now get out there, princess." Millie smiles, heads out the front door & comes across a certain face. "Well, hello there, you must be Millie; my name is professor shade. I was told you might live here through your application. He smiles at Millie and then notices Aurora on her shoulder. "Oh my, is that your partner on your shoulder? What a perfect companion vulpix is a beautiful Pokémon; I hear they make the perfect ally. The professor then focuses more on Aurora. "Wait a minute, that's an Alolan Vulpix, an ice-type version of Vulpix; excuse me for my misjudgment of your partner's species. I've never seen Alolan Vulpix with anyone as their first catch."

Millie giggles. "You're ok, professor; you must study so many different Pokémon species to forget the many types of different species you see in your line of work." The Professor laughs. "There are so many types of Pokémon in our world, and you, Millie, are going to have a chance to be a part of it." He smiles and then offers his paw.

"welcome to the research team; I will be your new head sponsor and will be the one to guide you on your way to your dream of becoming a Pokémon researcher just like me & of course, your new coworkers. Speaking of coworkers, I don't think you've met them yet; they are all back at the research lab, but one of them was excited to meet you, so Millie, let me introduce you to one of your partners; they will be a part of your research team, and they are also one of my star pupils in the team they know so much about Pokémon and are glad to help you on your quest to become a Pokémon researcher."

A male lynx dressed in cargo pants, a jacket, & cap walks out from behind professor shade & smiles. "Hello there, Millie; my name is Onyx. I can't wait to be able to work with you and your dream of becoming a Pokémon researcher, just like professor shade here; I think we'll make great partners." Millie smiles at Onyx. "Can't wait to work with you both." Professor Shade chuckles. "Now that you've met eye to eye, how about you show me how much you know about Pokémon battles? This will be a great way to experience how much you and your alolan vulpix can work together as a team"

Millie gasps. "A Pokémon battle, right now?"
