Still You Call Me

Lord,
Your presence is where you want me. Though I'm an unworthy sinful wretch, still you call me. You call me with a voice of peace. In the silence you whisper. Though I don't always feel you, still you are there. You beckon me into a place of full acceptance and belonging, and there you speak only words of truth. Words of love, not of hate. Words of peace, not of fear. Words of hope, not of despair. Words that strengthen, not weaken. When I cry, you wipe away my tears. You lift my head weighed down by shame. You say, "child look at me. There is no need to fear. I did not leave you at your lowest. I see you. You. Are. Mine." And I weep....for now I know I'm accepted. I'm your beloved. I am safe in your arms. There is no better place to be. I. Am. Yours.
