The raindrops hit the windowpanes softly, as if they, too, were trying to avoid waking the mage sleeping next to you. The smooth blankets feel warm against your skin, but not as warm as she does. You lean into her, your bare chest making contact with her back; your face nuzzles between her shoulder and her neck. Her scarlet hair smells of strawberries, the scent lingering even as you move it out of the way.
She's still fast asleep.
Her lips parted ever so slightly, and her breathing steady. You can feel her heartbeat as you gently sling your arm around her torso, pulling her closer. You close your eyes again, drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
"Mm..."
Your eyes open as Erza stretches her arms above her head, and you feel her legs straighten out as she exhales. Her arm slides over yours, and your fingers intertwine with hers.
"Good morning." you whisper.
"Good morning to you, too."
You can hear the smile in her tone, and she lets go of your arm to roll over and face you. Her brown eyes pull you in, as they always do. Her eyelids are still a little droopy, you can't tell if she's going to fall asleep again or not. You hope that she doesn't want to get up.
The rain on the windows gets louder for a moment, causing you both to tilt your heads towards the glass.
"It's really coming down..." she says, and plants a kiss onto your neck while you're looking away. "A stormy morning makes it hard to get out of bed."
"That's true." you turn back around, and she's already sat up and facing away from you.
Her Heart-Kreuz robe slinks just below her shoulders, and she pulls it back up before standing up and stretching some more.
"Come on, we should get up and make use of the daylight, even if it isn't exactly sunny." she says.
"If you insist." you toss the blanket off yourself, and are immediately hit with the cold air.
You get dressed while Erza does her morning routine. Although you don't live in her dorm, it often feels like a second home. Looking over your shoulder, you recall the first time you stayed over. You can't help but smile while recalling how panicked she got.
She really thought we were going to be in serious trouble, but nobody even batted an eye.
As her robe slips to the ground, you recall the other events of that night- but you quickly pull your head out of the gutter as she requips into one of her many casual outfits.
"Ready for another day." she says into the mirror with a grin.
"I think today, we should just relax." you stand behind her, placing your hands gently on her hips. "A lazy day once in a while won't hurt."
"Lazy is not in my vocabulary." she pushes you backwards with her glutes, prompting you to chuckle as she looks at her schedule for the day.
You look over her shoulder, and notice that nothing is written besides 'train,' which is written every day.
"Look at that, you've got nothing planned all day." you grin and pick the book out of her hand. "Let's just spend some quality time."
She folds her arms, and gives you a skeptical look.
"Actual quality time, nothing dirty." you assure her with a smile, though you feel your cheeks get hot.
She sighs, and cocks her head to the side. "I can never say no to you. But, if you're suggesting we stay in, what's your idea of quality time? I can't sleep all day, it'll throw off my weekly routine."
