The Misunderstood Son of the Overlord

Chapter 1: Meeting Ninjas

Kairo's POV
I packed everything I need in my duffle bag and now I feel suspicion and mistrust in the invitation but I'm taking my chances because I must know who my mother is.

I took my duffle before I left my apartment before locking it and there is no turning now.
I felt negative feels on me and I looked at my left hand as it emits dark energy of elemental of darkness. I might hurt somebody in the tournament and it won't take long for other to know that I'm Overlord's son due to my powers.

'I'm taking my chances...don't worry I'll find out who my mother is.' I thought to myself as the moon is shining down upon me and I looked at my wrist watch to see that it is 11:10. This might be a long walk towards the docks.

[Several Minutes Later]
I reached the docks finally and I checked my wrist watch again to see that it is 11:59 P.M.
'Just in time.' I mumble to myself, continuously walking in the docks. My face went pale to see...The ninjas except for Zane.

Guilt came over to me as I continue walking. I fixed my sunglasses slightly and my red eyes were quite intimidating for many people except on my workplace in the restaurant.
I'm quite surprised that there are people in here for whatever they are after from Chen and possibly of me hurting them in the tournament could be really off the roof due to my dangerous powers of darkness.

I closed my eyes briefly as I continue walking forward and I avoid having an eye contact with the ninjas as the green ninja walks pass me, avoiding his gaze.

"I told we shouldn't worn them" Jay told his team and they were wearing their ninja suit. I looked at edge, staring at the water while ignoring the ninjas conversation.

It didn't take long for the ship to arrive at the dock before everybody went in a single file line and I was at further back.
The other besides the ninjas were entering the ship. The moment my feet touch the ship. I speed walk to the right while carrying my duffle bag with me.

I went to the railings of the ship, right next to this guy who has invisible body and I could only see his clothes only.
When I see this guy named "Clouse" or whatever his name is.
I gave him a glare of distrust behind his back as his buddies walked passed me.
'If this tournament is a big fat lie. I will ensue chaos on you and you're buddies.' I thought to myself as I unzipped my duffle bag to pull out a can of lemonade before popping it open before I took a sip out of the can while zipping my duffle bag up.

"Hey dad what about him?" I froze in place before I looked to see the green ninja pointing at me as he asked his dad.
"I don't know about him" Upon hearing that from the old man. I let out a sigh of relief before I took a sip out of my lemonade soda can again.
"Oh hi" I suddenly heard the green ninja again trying to start a conversation with me.
"Uh...Hello" I replied with a nervous tone as I put the empty soda inside my duffle bag.
"What do you want?" I inquire calmly while pushing my sunglass, ensuring that my red intimidating red won't be seen to him.
"I'm Lloyd Garmadon and you are?" He introduced himself to me.
"I'm Kairo Lor-...I mean just Kairo. I don't have a last name...well not anymore" I replied, nearly blowing my identity as the Overlord's son.
"Why are you wearing sunglasses?" Lloyd inquires and I crossed my arms.
"Are you even aware that the master of speed wears sunglasses too and that guy too" I pointed at the invisible dude.
"Oh...I know that" He replies awkwardly.
"I'm just here to find out who my mother is" I revealed before I hear some ruckus somewhere in this ship but I ignored it.
"You're mother?" Lloyd was beginning to question me more.
"You don't want to know my "darkest" secret and prepare to be afraid of me once you saw my powers" I sternly told the green ninja before I walked away with my duffle bag.

Lloyd's POV
I watched Kairo walked away and I can't believe Chen convince him to participate in this tournament just to know who his mother is. The question still lingers in my mind: Who exactly is he and what elemental powers does Kairo have?

I'll soon find out the moment that my team reaches the tournament. I just hope we find Zane and get out.
