(Asher) panic mode

You had finally gotten a day off. You'd been working all month non-stop, and at last, you were free from the annoying clients and surprisingly more annoying coworkers of your office.

The only downside to this otherwise perfect day was that you couldn't spend it with the love of your life, who was disappointingly at a pack meeting though he would be home in less than two hours his absence still left you crestfallen.

So you sat on the couch with a bowl of cereal in your lap, alone..... in silence.

You put the TV on maybe some background noise would help the sinking feeling in your chest. You put on a nostalgic kid's movie and ate a spoon full of cereal.

After a while, the silence felt almost suffocating you looked around you anxiously trying to ignore the slightly frantic beating of your heart, all in one instant the lights seemed all too bright your bowl of cereal seemed heavy in your now violently shaking hands. The lawnmowers outside you previously paid no mind to buzzed loudly and aggressively in your head.

Your heart began beating impossibly faster your lungs burned as they filled with air now trapped too scared to release your brain screaming at you to breathe, but it was as if you forgot how. You felt nausea set in your stomach, twisting almost painfully bile rising in your throat and burning the inside of it.

Thousands of thoughts zoomed through your head all screeching out, yet not one of them you could comprehend. Your head felt dizzy the world spinning around you. You felt the strong urge to run to get out, but the nauseating waves rolling through your stomach and pounding in your head begged you not to move.

You curled up on the floor, breathing heavily in a shaking ball you sat the world felt like it was spinning faster and faster, and your entire body felt stiff and stationary. You sat like that unmoving your head so full it felt empty your hands grabbing roughly at your hair.

You felt lost unable to move breathe or even think you were so lost you didn't even hear your mate open the front door, you didn't hear him call your name and you didn't see him crouch down next to you.

You didn't acknowledge nor notice his existence until you felt him hold your face gently in his hands. You dived into him hugging him tightly trying your hardest to never let go. He was saying something but the buzzing in your ears muffled it. You relaxed in his touch as his hand moved up and down your back soothingly.

you felt your senses slowly come back as you lay in his arms you felt safe and content. You sniffled wiping off the tears you hadn't noticed were streaming down your face. You felt Asher's arms tighten around you, his hand still running up and down your back even as your breathing regulated.

"You ok baabe?" His voice was soft and nurturing as he moved one of his hands through your hair.

You nodded looking up at him

He held your face wiping your tears away with his thumb and kissing you all over it. He pulled away smiling down at you lovingly.

"What happened?" He almost whispered rubbing your back and hugging you tighter.

"I dunno, one minute I was fine and then...." your voice was scratchy, as you struggled to explain something you yourself didn't really understand. Why had you just randomly freaked out?

"It's ok, you don't have to know why" he pulled you closer

"I'm sorry..." you mumbled

"Don't be, you have nothing to be sorry for..." He mumbled back

You sat there in his arms for at least an hour in silence, a silence you didn't know Asher was capable of but you were happy with it. Nothing needed to be said it was comfortable and loving you felt safe again. The panicked haze was gone, and you felt yourself drift from consciousness in his arms.
