May 10th
"Are you gonna tell us where we're going?" Daniel asked
"Nope" Rory chuckled
"Come on" Sophie whined "please?"
"Not gonna happen" Logan chimed in
"Basketball?" Lena asked, confused when they pulled up next to a basketball court a few minutes later and got out of the car
"That's right" Rory said
"We don't play basketball" Sophie said
"You do today" Logan tossed Sophie a basketball
Daniel and Sophie just stared at Logan
"What are the teams?" Lena asked
"Great question" Rory said "kids versus parents"
"Oh, this is gonna be so easy" Lena snickered
"You do know that I used to play basketball, right?" Logan asked "it's not gonna be as easy as you think"
"But when was the last time you actually played?" Daniel raised an eyebrow
They started the game. Daniel ran up the court, past Logan and threw the ball to Sophie who passed it to Lena who threw it into the basket.
"What were you saying about it not being easy?" Daniel smirked
"Ok, new teams because I got the short straw, here" Logan said
"Hey!" Rory smacked his arm
"Girls versus guys?" Lena suggested
"Let's do it" Logan said
"Mom!" Sophie called out and passed the ball to Rory
Logan ran up behind Rory and wrapped his arms around her, lifting her up
"Logan!" Rory laughed
"Hey! That's a foul!" Sophie said
"Too bad" Logan stuck his tongue out. He took the ball from Rory and threw it into the hoop

"Do you guys remember when Lena tried to teach Daniel to play soccer?" Rory asked as they sat on the basketball court
Lena and Daniel shook their heads
"You were probably about 5 and 3" Rory said "you wanted someone to play soccer with so you tried to teach Daniel but he couldn't kick the ball hard enough to get it into the goal so you decided to kick him"
"Oh...I think I do remember that" Lena admitted
"Is that true?" Sophie asked
"In my defense, if I remember right, that was around the time when you were always trying to put things in everyone's nose" Lena said
"Ok, that's definitely not true" Daniel said
"Actually it is" Logan said "once you put an MnM up your nose and we had to take you to the emergency room"
"Ew" Sophie said
"You probably also did weird stuff" Daniel said
"The only weird stuff I did as a baby was almost die...twice" Sophie said
"Yeah, the award for who can make their parents more anxious definitely goes to you, Soph" Lena chuckled

May 11th
"F sharp, not F" Sophie's violin teacher said
"Why do I have to learn this anyway?" Sophie asked "the 6th graders aren't even in this piece"
"But I want to put you in it" the teacher told her
"Really?!" Sophie asked, excitedly
"If you can do it"
"I can do it"
"Good. Show me"
Later that night Sophie was in the living room practicing the violin
"Soph" Lena called out from the dining room table "I have my last final tomorrow and I'm trying to study"
"My teacher is gonna let me play with the older kids, in the recital. I have to practice"
"Can you take it upstairs?" Lena asked
"Why can't you take it upstairs?"
"Because I'm older" Lena said
"That's not a reason"
"Sophie" Lena groaned "please just go upstairs"
Sophie just stared at Lena
"What do you want?" Lena sighed
"I wanna use your phone"
"What's wrong with yours?"
"I'm 11. Mom and dad put age restrictions on mine. I can't use social media on it"
"I let you look at Instagram on my phone and you go upstairs?"
"That's the deal"
"Fine"

May 13th
"Did you like it?" Sophie asked when she met up with Rory, Logan, Lena, and Daniel after her music recital
"It was great" Logan hugged her and kissed the top of her head
"Yeah, the when you did your solo com some lady behind us said that you were gonna be the next Itzhak Perlman" Lena said
"Who is that?" Daniel asked
"Really famous violin player" Sophie said "someone really said that?"
"Yup" Rory nodded
"I liked that part when that kid dropped the...whatever it's called" Daniel said
"A called a bow" Sophie said "and it wasn't funny"
"I thought it was"

May 15th
"You have a lot of family, right?" Melissa asked as she, Lena, and Lexie walked from their math class towards the front of the school to go home
"Yeah, why?" Lena asked
"Because it's just me and my mom so I've got 4 extra graduation tickets" Melissa told her "I thought you might want them"
"Oh, my god, you just saved me from having to argue with Mr Fink about extra tickets" Lena said "thank you"
"No problem" Melissa smiled
"It's so crazy" Lexie said "our final soccer game together is next week...and then we graduate. 4 years of high school, done"
"Stop, I'm gonna cry" Melissa said
"If i make it through the championships and graduation without crying I'll be seriously surprised" Lexie said
"Ms Huntzberger" The principal poked his head out of the office as the 3 girls passed by
"Principal Stein" Lena said
"May I speak with you for just a moment, please?"
The 3 girls exchanged confused looks.
"Sure"
