ROSALIE MINDLESSLY STROLLED THROUGH THE empty halls, her mind empty of any thoughts, her fingers absentmindedly dragging along the rough surface of the brick walls as she walked.

Despite the cool chill of the morning air, Rosalie continued out of the cell block, only in a short-sleeved shirt and severely ripped jeans. The cool breeze wrapped around her like a blanket, sending shivers up her spine, the cold touch of the morning covering her bare arms in goosebumps.

The crisp breeze was a refreshing change from the stuffy, almost stale atmosphere from inside the prison. A small smile flickered over her features as she took a deep breath, inhaling the much-needed fresh air. A sense of calmness washed over her as she looked at the beautiful sunrise on the horizon, slowly inching further and further up the sky.

Rosalie turned on her walkman, music blaring into her ears as she put on her headphones and climbed up the ladder that was perched against the outside wall of the cell block, using it to climb onto the roof of the building.

She sat down, her arms wrapped around her knees as she watched the sun slowly climb further up into the sky, the orange hues turning into beautiful pinks and purples.
