Chapter 2:Whats A Portkey?

All Four Hobbits gathered at bag ends checking their supplies while they were waiting for Gandalf. Frodo and Sam packed mostly clothes and some snacks for they didn't know when they will get food. But for merry and pippin they mostly stole crops from farmers Maggots crops again. ( they are also bringing they're swords for protection.)

Samwise walked over to Merry and pippin after checking over his list of stuff he's bringing. "Merry and Pippin! Have you guys been stealing from famer Maggots again! I thought you two have learned your lessons!" Samwise scowles them "We can't help it! Old habits die hard " Pippin says as he scratches his neck "i agree, and it wasn't like he was doing anything with them always" Merry chimes in. "Sam they're fine they can repay him when we get back," Frodo says trying to bring down Sams anger. "Does anyone knows how we are gonna get to this logworn?" Pippin asked " It's Hogwarts, and I'm afraid I only know that Master Gandalf only tends to help us get there." Samwise says sitting down

There was a light tap- tap on the door. Frodo got up and opened it to see Gandalf. Gandalf went to the kitchen where anyone has gathered. " I hope you have packed up all the things you mean to bring" Gandalf says as he pulls out a old handkerchief lays it down and says "This is a portkey they can teleport you to one place." Gandalf explained "um are they all handkerchiefs?" Merry asked eyeing the old handkerchief. "No no, they can be anything they can be a tin can, a sack of potatoes, even jewelry" Gandalf repiled.

But before anyone can ask any more questions. Gandalf put his hand up to signal for them to stop talking. " there's only a few seconds before the portkey leaves so put your hands on the portkey." Everyone did as asked and a few seconds later a weird feeling came over them and they could see the ground leave they're feet only to have it come back a minute or two later. The Hobbits instantly fell over after landing.

After getting up they saw a sign that said hogsmeade. They looked around and saw many shops. "Umm Gandalf this isn't Hogwarts" Frodo told the wizard "indeed it is not" repiled the wizard "couldn't you have used a portkey to got to hogwarts?" Asked Samwise " No, for there are many protection spells among the castles ground, and do you can't teleport inside so I had to teleported near it. But we still have a long walk to go intill we are at Hogwarts, now come, let us go!"Gandalf said

They were outside the dinning hall door when they finished sorting anyone and then they come into the dinning hall and Gandalf told the Hobbits to stand near his friend Dumbledore at the end of the room

"Aw yes, here they are just in time these Hobbits will be helping around the castle and in the classes through the year."

And then professor Minerva McGonagall make a little table for the four hobbits to sit at. They sat down not listening to the speech about a forbidden forest and something about some terrible death on floor 7 or 4 or whatever. But after his speech they were so hungry for when the food appeared out of no where they weren't surprised or anythingthe only thing they cared for was the food.

They ate in till they couldn't eat a single bite ( they also noticed a teacher with greasy black hair glaring at them the whole time)and then they followed professor Minerva McGonagall up to a room with four beds that had all their stuff. And as soon as they touched their bed the four hobbits instantly fell asleep in their super comfortable beds.
