Rea was failing her classes, She couldn't focus really well and she wasn't paying any attention at the teachers.
She never fully recovered from the traumas she suffered during her childhood. Her dad abused her badly, he was always drunk which made him hurt her more. She still has the bruises from his dad, 4 years ago her mom tried leaving him but he keeps threatening her "If you leave me i will burn this house down." She was scared, but since she was old enough she reported him to the police. And thank goodness he was in jail for many years.
She had a therapist for almost 6 years and it really helped her recover a bit.
At school, Rea was about to go to the library to read some books. A boy caught her eye, it was James from history and math class. She picked up a book she liked and sat next to him, "Hey! What book are you reading?" She smiled at him.
He looked back at her "o-oh this? Uh im reading a romance book, i just finished doing the essay Mr. Williams asked us to do, I actually love reading books after classes"
"I didn't know you were a bookworm dude, i thought you were really just a nerd" she laughed
"Nerd read books, rea" he dropped his jaw in disbelief
"Sorry don't have to be that rude"
"What book are you reading?" He asked as he changed the topic.
"Oh i just picked out a random book to sit next to you, oops"she awkwardly said
"Well it was nice seeing you james, see you tomorrow" she putted a piece of paper on the desk.
He picked it up and there was a number on it, was it? Her phone number? He looked very happy about it and ran out of the library.
