Woo Do-hee (Korean: 김지수; born September 28, 2003), known mononymously as Dohee, is a South Korean singer-songwriter and presenter. She is the leader of the South Korean girl group NewJeans, formed by ADOR, in July 2022. Before debut, she released three singles on SoundCloud.

2003–2022: Early life and career beginnings

Woo Do-hee was born September 28, 2003, in Busan, South Korea. In 2008, four months after her younger brother was born, her parents committed double suicide. She was then later raised by her aunt. Dohee studied in Gangdong Elementary School and Haegang Middle School in Busan, later moving to Seoul, becoming a trainee and studing in Hanlim Multi Art School.

When she lived in Busan, her family had very poor living conditions and little money. The three of them lived in a one-room apartment and slept on the couch together. She stated that she worked little jobs to earn a bit of money. Dohee described IU as her inspirstion to become a singer so she convinced her aunt to move to Seoul. Due to her poor living conditions, Dohee stated that she "loved being in the company", where she could eat as much as she wanted and have a comfortable place to sleep.

Whilst training in Hybe Labels and then later ADOR she released three singles: Midnight Call (2020), My Sea (2021), and Spring is You (2022), which were realsed on SoundCloud. Dohee joined her members Minji and Hanni with making cameo apperances in BTS's 2021 music video "Permission to Dance".

She graduated Hanlim Multi Art School in 2023, an arts high school, in broadcasting & entertainment.

2022-present: Debut and solo endevours

Dohee debuted as the leader of the six member girl group NewJeans on July 22, 2023, alongside Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein with the release of their extended play "New Jeans". In September, Dohee also participated in ISAAC's dance sport performing a rumba dance routine. On September 30, 2022, Woo was revealed to be the new global ambassador for the brand Loewe.

In February, 2023, Dohee alongside NMIXX's Lily, took part in the OST for "Love to Hate You".

On March 23, 2023, it was announced that Dohee would be a special MC for the music program Show Music Core, she would partake as a co-MC from the last month of March to the first week of April. On April 6, she was announced as the new official MC for Show! Music Core, starting from April 15.

In April, 2023, it was revealed by Leena Nair that Dohee was Chanel's muse for their Summer collection. On June 2, 2023, Dohee was appointed the newest addition to Celine as their global embassador.

For all NewJeans' current songs and her solo songs, she is credited for writing them and then producing some of them, including all her solo songs.

Woo gained the nickname "seller of products" after most things she shows and wears sell out quickly.

Dohee has many times named IU and Lovelyz as her favourite aritist. Lovelyz also being one of the main reasons why Dohee chose Woollim over SM Entertaintment and JYP.

She can speak Korean and English. Dohee studied Spanish so she communicate with Spanish-speaking fans. Woo likes to write and produce songs as she feels like it gives her freedom. Before showing the lyrics to the company, Dohee always goes to the members first to see how they feel about it.

She is close friends with Aespa's Winter and was spotted with her multiple times.
