She was only ten, but her emerald eyes were already full of thoughts and apprehension in a way they spoke almightiness. They were more than a reflection in his eyes. The gaze that said; 'you don't know me, and you never will'. The gaze that told so many stories yet nothing at all. Something that bewitched him and the gut feeling of never wanting to get out of it. A strange comfort he'd choose over anything and everything. The flesh and blood evidence that she was his. Him.
"How'd you know that?" Tommy asked his daughter, the fascination still in his voice.
