We can keep repeating that we are humans who are better than animals.
On all those occassions we will be proven wrong.
So, lets take a look which reason makes them homophobic.

Not our culture.
We are humans and it's us who make cultures. The problem with this word 'culture' is that we don't understand what it exactly means. If a part of the world is abusing women, then we easily say that it's their 'culture' but if the same happens in our community we refuse to accept that this is our 'culture'.
We make culture for us. Welcoming LGBT in any culture cannot bring ill effects anyways. Instead it will bring happiness. People will start accepting themselves as they are. They can marry or love anyone they want. They will be having healthy sexual lives. Win-win for society.
