It has now a month since that meeting and both teens were given the time to know with each other
But now Shoto stood outside in the Garden of the Ubuyashiki estate with his fiancé who he now knows as Kohaku ( Haku for short )
" Sir Shoto, All I ask is that you choose the path which you utmost desire. " Haku said almost pleading, Shoto remained calm as he looked at the shorter female
" The priests and other wealthy families have been sending my family wives and husbands for generations. " Haku said as her mouth tilted down, " But I don't wanna force anyone to take on the role they never needed nor wished for. " Haku finished as she looked at Shoto who's face held a small smile, She looked confused
" From the moment I saw you, the moment when you first smiled at me, " Shoto said as he looked at her with a smile, " i knew at that moment my heart yearned for you. whether people like it or not, I know that we'll be together. " Shoto's face held a loving look that's directed to the female, " it would bring my heart and bring my soul joy if you decide to return my feelings for you. "
Haku looked at Shoto wide eyed as she felt tears prick at her eyes, when she suddenly felt herself getting hugged by the male
And after the hug both laughed as Haku wiped away the tears as Shoto continued to cling on to her
" I-I promise to be with you till the day I draw my last breath. " Haku said as she laughed with happy tears still coming out from her eyes
Shoto held her shoulders as he looked at her wet face from the tears, " We'll be together till the very end... " Shoto drawled out as he hugged her again
Unbeknownst to the young couple, Kagaya and Amane have been hearing their conversations behind the shoji door a few feet away from the couple
Kagaya smiled as he reminisced the time he and Amane got betrothed
Amane chuckled lightly, " They're both like us... the way they spoke was like the time when you said to me to follow the path I desire. " Amane said as she looked at her husband, despite being Blind, Kagaya looked back at her and held her hand
" I don't want anyone to be forced to do something they don't wanna do. " Kagaya said with a smile
" But the path I desired the most is being with you till the end. " Amane responded with a smile as she gripped his hand tighter
" And I don't regret it. Not even a single bit. "
" If I had one thousand lives, years, I would choose to be yours in every single one."
