He'll teach this forest girl to not mock him.

Aonung stood waist deep in the water, calling out with clicks to make the ilus come to him.

Turning to the group as the ilus circled him.

"These are ilu. If you want to live here, you have to ride."

"We'll split in groups, Aonung will help Ney'lia and Neteyam, Rotxo will help Tuk and Bak'teyo, I'll help the rest." Tsireya decided, her brother rolling his eyes but saying nothing.

"Alright forest guys, come." He waved for them. "You are hunter, you go first." He told Neteyam.

"I am hunter too." Ney'lia crossed her arms, jealous how the others got the gentler teachers, even Karven who was the warrior between them all had Tsireya.

"You are a mighty warrior." Neteyam flicked her ear with a mocking laugh as he pulled himself onto the ilu.

"I'll drown you, then we'll talk." She promised, watching her brother be dragged down and thrown off by the water drag, he was never the greatest at riding, be it on land or not.

She watched the ocean boy explain to her cousin what to do, Neteyam doing better then her brother, out of them all, only he, Tey'lia and Inuk had gone through their dream hunt.

It made her sad that she'd never have the honor of it, if any of them are to become warriors, it would be like the Metkayina want it, she knew he was in training so the black skin marks on the adults must be what marked them as a hunter.

"Wooo!" Neteyam was getting on really well, getting more and more used to it on the surface but not yet diving.

"Okay my turn." She declared, wadding over.

"Slow forest girl, you'd scare tsurak off."

"I'd love for you to see a palulukan." She hissed. "You are no warrior yet but I was barely of age to learn when I tamed my beast to fly against the demon blood for my brother, you scare me less then they could."

"Ney'lia, calm." Neteyam gestured.

"Piss off."

She got on the ilu, not liking the saddle, it was slippery, how the hell would it help her stay on.

"Like I showed him, hand here and don't forget the water. It will pull you off, by close to the ilu, less water between you two the better." Aonung still instructed her since she was meant to learn.

And she still did as told since she wanted to learn, needed to learn, she needed to show him how easy it was.

"Go." She said out loud.

She instantly felt what she was warned about, the water surrounding them pulling back so hard against her, when flying it was almost the same but with waaaay less of a push back from the wind.

She grabbed with two hands but had not been paying attention and the ilu made a shriek, running in a small coral reef.

She slipped when the creature shook itself with splashes.

She growled as laughter was heard, looking at the others.

"Fuck you." She whispered to herself as she shifted her gaze to the ilu that lifted its head out of the water to look at her. "Nah, not your fault big guy." She pet its head.

"You are alright forest girl?!"

Ney'lia flipped off Aonung as he yelled that to her.

Jake was a meal to watch... Why? Because the jarhead was being flung left and right and up and down each time he got on the tsurak.

"This is a warrior's mount, not easy to master. Perhaps you should start with an ilu." Tonorwari tried to convince him as he once against climbed onto the beast.

"He won't listen." Anko said, hand on the muzzle of the beast, despite it not being happy with Jake it wasn't moving to throw him off as long as the warriors and she were around it to keep it from moving.

"Nah I want this one." Jake proved her words, grinning from ear to ear. "I can't let you one up me." Anko rolled her eyes, true this tsurak was slightly bigger then the norm, a size between her Striker and Tonowari's.

"Now remember, when you dive back in good position." Tonowari said as Jake tied his hand down, this being the sole reason he kept failing, never a good position.

"I got this."

"No you don't" Anko whispered, stepping out of the way, backing up next to the other warriors, Jake instantly shot off with the tsurak.

The beast unsteadily rose out of the water, struggling to fly straight before Jake dove under.

"Jake you moron."

And the tsurak surfaced without Jake.

Tonowari hissed, feeling shame Jake should have as he surfaced and cursed up a small storm.

At least she hopes the kids are having an easier time learning because the parents are being the childish ones here.
