Chapter 3: Dawn Breaks

Crimson wakes up from his slumber in a somber mood as he dreads his work once more, he barely makes any money from it, he relies on a diet of instant noodles and supermarket meals, he thinks to himself "Why am I doing this? I'm working for peanuts and yet I still decide to work in this god forsaken job." As the sunlight slowly slips through his windows, the birds chirping their songs, and the paper boys making their rounds, Crimson stands up and walks towards his bathroom, the least one can do in this type of lifestyle is to clean and bathe themselves right? He grabs his towel and hangs it on the rack to his left, he turns in the shower head and he is met with an icy cold rain of tap water, as he really can't afford any heating mechanisms, he shrugs off the fact and continues with his cold shower. Crimson finishes up and dries himself off, he puts on a brightly colored t-shirt, boxer shorts, and a hoodie. He fires up his laptop once again and it appears that he was sent an email by his employer. He opens it and reads that his performance lately was lacking, he was warned that if he doesn't put any effort, he will be replaced. He has until next week to keep up, the horror of losing his job comes upon him "Will I die homeless?" "Do I do something?" Countless questions flood his mind, and he rubs his face with his hand in realization that he will die alone, but that's what he thinks. After doing some work he yawns, "Damn, I should get something to keep me up, maybe I should get some coffee from that new shop nearby." He gets up from his chair and puts on his shoes. Crimson walks towards the door and opens it, then he heads to the aforementioned coffee shop. On his way there he watches the busy streets, the pedestrians walking their pets, before another thought comes to his mind, he arrives at the shop. He walks through the door and the bell rings, the barista greets him. He now stands before a beautiful woman, blonde hair, and piercing cerulean eyes, then he hears "good morning! What would you like sir?" Crimson snaps back to reality and looks at the woman, he stutters on his words as he is taken aback by her appearance. "Y-yes uhh ma-may I have a caramel macchiato p-please?" He says. The woman nods and inputs the request into the register "Will that be all?" She says. Crimson nods and takes out his wallet, he opens it and he asks the woman "How much would it cost?" She replies "your coffee would just be around $6.50 sir" His eyes widen as he looks into his wallet, it seems that he cannot afford the drink. He sighs and says "I'm sorry but I don't seem to have enough to cover it, I'll just leave" The woman says "Oh? It's alright, it's on me." She says with a warm smile, it's as if there is light gleaming around her. "Really? You mean it?" Crimson asks in utter disbelief, She nods and says "I'll have it ready for you in a few minutes, please have a seat over there!" She points to an empty table and seat. Crimson, still in shock from her kind gesture, obliges and walks over to the seat and sits down, He thinks to himself "Really? Did that just happen? Did she just pay for my coffee?" He starts overthinking it and spirals into a state of deep thinking. Before he could finish his thoughts, the woman comes to him with his coffee, and what seems to be a cup of tea. The woman asks "Is it ok if I sit with you?" Crimson immediately nods and takes his coffee from the tray. "So tell me, what made you pay for my drink?" She replies "It was just out of kindness, and besides, you're totally my type" she says in a very calm tone of voice. Crimson is shocked by her answer, his heart starts racing and his palms start to sweat. He stutters "Re-really? I've never seen a person do this kind of thing for me, thank you so much!" The woman giggles and says "It's my pleasure, if you don't mind me asking, what's your name?"
