The morning came, I was in the backseat between Uncle Bart and Danny. We arrived at the place, Danny was covered up like a UFC, we went inside an elevator, and the doors opened to the receding redhead creep.
"So glad you could make it, please follow me."
Of course the arena which was an abandoned swimming pool room smelled like copper and sweat, a big guy who looked like Jason Voorhees but with a Hulk voice and sharp spikes was pounding another fighter in the ring.
"This is our current champion, fifteen fights in a row. Will there be a sixteenth? Maybe, maybe not, well that depends on your man."
Uncle Bart walked to Danny and removed his collar.
"Get em."
Danny started walking down the steps to the fighting ring.
"Excited to see Danny in action?" Uncle Bart asked.
"Kind of."
"First time viewer eh?" The man asked.
"Yes sir-"
"KICK HIS FUCKIN' ASS OFF!" Uncle Bart yelled.
In seconds, the guy was bleeding out his mouth and fell to the ground dead. I was shocked at Danny's ability. He won! Danny had his collar back on and covered back up. Uncle Bart was handed a wad of cash.
"I'm impressed but he's gonna have to be a bit more keen next time. The thing with the collar, brilliant. How did you do that?"
"Like my mum always said, get em young enough and the possibilities are endless."
"I'm sure it was the Jesuits who said that."
"They probably got it from my mum."
I stiffled a laugh. We left the building.
We were in the car.
"You know what I've been thinking, the dream I had last night about the girls?"
"Yeah, and the birds," Georgie replied.
"Well I figured it all out, what it means. Dreams mean something sometimes right Em, you're a psychology buff?"
"It depends on the style of therapy, dreaming can sometimes mean unfinished business or can predict the future. It's called psychoanalysis, Dr. Sigmund Freud came up with it. I learned it in a book I read in the school library."
"Holy shit Em, you're right, exactly what I was thinking, atta girl! I know what it all means, having this dream and getting this money, the dream, the swell, it means retirement, you get it!?"
We nodded.
"I feel better about this, like an epiphany you know. You know I feel really good, I feel generous. Danny...what do you want?"
Me and Uncle Bart turned to Danny who was looking out the window.
"A piano."
"Excuse me?"
"I want a piano."
"How about a lobster dinner?"
I rolled my eyes, the fat ass ain't listening to what Danny wants.
"I want a piano."
"How bout a woman, you never had a woman?"
"I want a piano!"
"Danny, you're starting to piss me off!"
"I want a piano."
It got quiet for second, then Uncle Bart laughed.
