Chapter 6

This is chapter 5 from Jeanine's point of view.

I reach for my alarm clock and turn it off. I slowly open my eyes and start to get up. I went in the bathroom brushed my teeth. Then I turned on the shower. I took off my clothes and went in the shower and let the warm water run on my body.
It always feels nice. I got dressed afterwards and warmed up some leftovers from last night for breakfast.

I got out of my apartment and started walking to classroom 5B. Yesterday was the choosing ceremony so today will be there IQ test. I reach the room five minutes before 8AM. There are a few initiates already there so after five minutes I give them instructions and they start their test. After the first hour of the test I go to room 5A and send Cara to room 5B.

I walk around the room for a while then sit down at the chair that was facing the initiates. I noticed Beatrice look but when I looked back at her she suddenly looked back at her computer. This happened a few more times. So I got up and decided to stand behind her. She seemed to realise that I was standing behind her because when I had gotten up she pretended to focus on her screen. I observed her. Her Hands were shaking a bit and she was also sweaty. I want to ask her if she was okay but decided against it. Maybe she was just nervous, she was an Abnegation transfer and this was also her first test that would decide her future. But she seemed fine when I entered the room. She started acting like this when she heard my voice. So it is possible that she is sacred of me. I mean it is totally possible like more than half of my faction is afraid of me. I also noticed that she also got a few questions wrong.

There was another possibility but it was so absurd I didn't even want to waste my time thinking about it. There is absolutely no way it's possible. So I walked around the room till the test was over.

After the test I went to my office and started doing some paperwork. After about 2 I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in" I said in my usual cold and commanding voice.

The door opened and my assistant Prim stood there she did come in but said "Eric would like to meet you ma'am. He is in the waiting room right now."

"Ok send him in" I said

"Yes, ma'am" she said and walked out closings the door behind her.

After a minute or two Eric entered my office.

"Max wants the details about the attack and my team suspects one of your initiates of being divergent." Eric said.

"Tell Max that I will send him the details when I have the plan completely foolproof so he needs to stop asking me for the plan again and again. And who do you suspect of being Divergent who could be stupid enough to choose Erudite if they are Divergent." I said.

"It's Beatrice Prior. Her aptitude test was entered manually. And it was abnegation but then at the choosing ceremony she seemed like she wanted to choose Dauntless so if she does well in her she has to be Divergent." Eric said

"You have a good point I will keep an eye on her" I said.

"I will inform you of any updates. So that is all I will be leaving now" Eric said and got out of the room.

I sighed I will have to figure out a way to stop Max. It is not a good idea to destroy Abnegation even if they have a lot of divergents. I know that Abnegation is corrupted. Marcus killed his wife and he had also beaten his child. I don't even want to think about what he tried to do to me. I know I should have told some about him but no one would believe me because he is Abnegation. But that doesn't mean that all the Abnegations should be killed.

I was working with Max to get revenge on Marcus because he is the one who is always trying to protect Divergents. I didn't really cared that much as long as Marcus died. But when Max said he wants to kill all the Divergents because the don't fit in and to do that he wants to kill all the Abnegations because a lot of them are Divergents. He said that as for the other Abnegation who are not Divergents sacrifices have to be made to keep peace. That's when I turned against him I am not going to kill a whole faction and innocent people. Also the Divergent have not done anything that would destroy our peace. I don't know who does Max thinks he is fooling with that excuse because Divergents are not bad. So he obviously wants to have everything in his control. He wants to kill all the Abnegations because that would create chaos in all the other factions. Then he will attack them as well. He will be able to control the Dauntless with the serum. But he will not be able to control Divergents because the serum doesn't work on them that's why he wants them dead.
