While it rained i was under my umbrella looking at the sign they finally wanted to put up about witnesses

Josh then came over and looked as well

Matt-did department 1 hang this up?

Josh-yea. Its been since the incident took place but they finally hung it up a week ago

Matt-have any witnesses come forward yet?

Josh-no...do u think there are any witnesses at all? They would've called by now if there were.

Matt-knowing department 1 they probably wouldn't have found anything even if a witness comes foward

Josh-come on they can't be that incompetent could they?

Matt-i don't trust department 1. U guys are the only one i trust at LAPD

We hear a voice and turn around and its some stranger

?-who are u? The police?

Matt-yep. How do u do?

?-ur here because of that?jeez this small town use to be peaceful. I don't have a good feeling about this.

He was about to go on but I stopped him

Matt-sir, do u know anything about this? The car accident that took place here? Any insight would be helpful.

?-Car accident? Well, My wife did mention a car accident that happened around here

My eyes widen as i was in shock. Maybe we do have a witness

Matt-did she witness the accident herself?

?-I can't say for certain. But it wasn't anyone from our village, that's for sure. They're from somewhere else. The culprit was a man. A man wearing a hat.

The man took us to his home where we questioned his wife

She was scared to say anything because she didn't want whoever that was to come and find her but i told her that everything here will be confidential

She told me what happened how she was out at night and all she seen was 2 men who got i to a car accident

She said they was cursing and almost got i to a fight but afterwards she didn't see anything else due to how scared she was and she ran back to her house

After that she didn't see anything else. She described how it was dark and all she seen was a man in a hat and a black sedan crash into the picture of the van i had

I told her that was all and asked how come she didn't report it then and she said she could even barely remember and she wasn't even sure exactly what was going on

I told her how big of a help she was and how come the police didn't question her

Her husband came out and said no one came and did nothing. They cleared it and thought the case was closed

At that point i was irritated...Fucking Jackson!

-The Next Day-

I went straight to Jackson and told him about my testimony from the witness and he was shocked

Jack-how did u get that?

Matt-we asked residents walking past the scene of the accident. It didn't take long at all. She lives across from the bridge. Since it's the closest to the scene of the accident, that house should've been top priority. If you made a bit of effort, you would've found out immediately. Why didn't you go for the questioning?

Jack-what is this? A interrogation? Did you see the banner we put up? How are we supposed to know when no one's reporting anything? What are we psychics?!

He yelled which now caused me to yell and be pissed off

Matt-you should've looked into it yourself!! It's already been a month since the accident so she doesn't even remember the exact date!! You should've question her as soon as it happened! This is why the investigation is making no progress!!

He looked up at me shocked and appalled

Jack-who are u to lecture ur superior?I'm the one who investigated the scene and searched the grounds for evidence as soon as it happened!! Do u think ur all that just because u got one testimony? Do u think ur the only one slaving away?! My guys have been pulling all nighters for days!!

I looked over at them as they all glared at me

Matt-anyway i submitted a request for our team to take over this investigation. Just so u know

I said looking at him then i walked out with Josh and Dixie who was waiting for me leaving the station

Dixie-w-what are u planning to do sir?

Josh-Officer Rife take a deep breath

I paused trying to calm down in front of them

I told them to collect everything they could and look into ever black sedans and to let me know when they hear from officer Jaden

Josh-sir where are u going?

Matt-too cool off

I went on bumping someone then finding a peaceful place to smoke

When I looked for my lighter sitting down the man i bumped into lit it for me

Matt-thanks

?-i guess its already been 2 years since he went missing. If ur trying to get revenge, ur lashing out on the wrong people. They probably don't want to do this job anymore than u do. Since y'all are stuck together, i suggest u try to be nice.

Matt-well he would be here had they didn't commit those crimes in the first place. They hated him just because he refused to dirty his hands like the rest of them. So don't u dare defend the perpetrators

I told him how when my brother disappeared evidences of the dirty things Jackson has did went away as well.

Matt-if i keep working on this case i'm sure ill find out he went missing and who was behind it. Its my duty and i'm going to expose all the corruption thats with it....sorry for rambling. Ima head back

I got up and i stopped as he still talked

He told me basically i should be smart and play it by the book. He then gave me info that the person who did it had to be taller than the victim and also has to make those pawn pieces my hand as they were carved

I asked him was that his way of helping and he said he was doing it for chris

He told me he also resigned today because he was done playing nice...whatever that meant
