Maeve's father, Jeremy, grew up on the Outerbanks as a pogue. Surfing all day long and drinking beer with his friends whilst running away from cops.
So it definitely came as a surprise to his family when he managed to get a full scholarship to Oxford.
During his second year at University, he met a girl named Lillian, a rich girl from the English countryside. And like every cliché rom-com, they started dating and fell in love.
They started a life together and had Maeve, and after 15 years, they were wealthy enough to move to Jeremy's home town and see what life would be like on the other side.
Maeve eventually befriended a girl named Kiara, who introduced her to a trio of reckless and child-like boys that welcomed her quickly, despite her being, what the island would call, a 'Kook.'
Maeve's life used to be quiet and boring, but ever since moving to America, everything changed. She wasn't sure if she liked that.
