"Thanks for inviting me to your house.", Heeseung said, as he sat in Jake's living room. It was small but cosy with its yellow walls and shelves filled with photo frames, figurines and books on sciences.

"There's no need for that, it's my fault for leaving my documents here.", Jake said, taking a seat opposite to him. He had a stack of papers in his hand.

"You seem to have a lot of books on medical science, did you want to be a doctor?", Heeseung asked, making small talk.

"No, those used to belong to my brother. He wanted to be a neurologist."

"Used to? Did he quit medicine?"

Jake's face visibly darkened and his smile left his face. "He was killed by the mob when he was just about to graduate. I don't what involvement he had with them but I know he was innocent."

"I am sorry. I shouldn't have brought that up.", Heeseung apologised.

"It's okay, you didn't know.", Jake shut him off, "It's been seven years. I have moved on."

Heeseung tried to apologize again only to be interrupted by the doorbell. Heeseung watched Jake answer the door. Two boys, probably in their teens, entered the home. Both of them wore the same uniform. One of them was very tall, probably as tall as Heeseung himself. Heeseung recognized the two of them from the photo frame, Jake kept on his office table.

"Jungwon, Niki, how was school.", Jake greeted with a smile, as if their conversation didn't even happen.

"It was great, eomma.", the taller kid said.

"Eomma?", Heeseung asked confused, Jake definitely wasn't old enough to be their parent, at least not biologically.

"Heeseung, I adopted them five years ago. This is Jungwon and that is Niki.", he introduced them, "Oh, and this is Heeseung. He is my client for this case."

"We figured that much, you would have to live under a rock to not know who Heeseung is.", Jungwon said sassily.

Jake laughed at the remark, "You kids are clever, aren't you?"
