maria santana delores flores- or evelyn starr, (born may 8th, 1993) is a british-ethiopian actress, singer and model. the actress is well-known for being a former member of the girl group little mix, until she began her professional acting career, most notably, marvel's blockbuster mini series, moon knight, as layla elfouly, where she garnered even more popularity. maria is also a global ambassador and the face of celine, a brand which she often models.

flores was born on may 8th, 1993, to parents micheal flores and gemma castillo, in addis ababa, ethiopia. her family remained in her native country for a couple years, until they moved to heathrow, london for reasons mainly having to do with her father's status in the ethiopian political scene. during her times in london, flores would attend 'IFTAS' (Institute for Talent and Skills), a school for youth to indulge and further their skills in the arts, where she studied music, dance, as well as, acting - graduated as of 2011, and soon after started auditioning for small roles around london. which were not as successful, having much to do with her ethnic background.

after a year of constant disappointment/bad luck with her acting career, in 2012, flores took a shot at another artistic career, performance. she would attend various talent competitions with her amazing vocal abilities. the most notable one being the x factor, which after a thrilling season, produced one of the biggest and well-known groups on the planet, LITTLE MIX, which flores earned a spot alongside members; perrie edwards, draya thompson & jesy nelson.
ms flores would remain in the band for about 6 years, florishing in her music before going on hiatus in 2017, having to take a break after yves waynes, little mix's performance director and flores' close friend, unfortunately took his life midyear.
the singer didn't come back into the public eye until march 2018 to announce her departure from little mix and her music career, as well sharing her exciting news of an official acting debut in the iconic blockbuster movie known as, the black panther.
from then on, she would go on to be a part of many projects, the most notable role portrayed by the actress being, layla elfouly in 2022's marvel mini series, moon knight, whereby she played the love interest of steven grant/marc spector (portrayed by oscar isaac).
