◇ pov: akito ◇

Mmf.

As I came to my senses after being asleep for who knows how long, I realized I didn't have a good sleep on the couch I'd chosen to lay on.

Oh well. My new bedroom would be ready by tonight. At least, that's what the guy told me.

I finally felt inclined to open my eyes when the light of morning peeked in through my eyelids. I didn't want to get up and do anything. I wanted to stay here forever, no matter how uncomfortable it was. I heard chatter nearby.

But I didn't want the other knights thinking I was some sorta slacker. I eventually got up and stretched out my arms covered in my black pijama sleeves.

"Ah, Akito. You're up?" I heard a voice say. It was that blue haired girl- An. I just nodded. "How was your sleep?" She asked. "Okay." I murmured. "You hungry?" She asked. I nodded again. "Come with me, newbie." I sighed in slight frustration at the girl, but followed her.

The room where the knights had breakfast was where the party was mainly situated last night. The cold tiled floors made my bare feet chilly. I pulled up a dark oak chair engraved all over with flowers, scraping it across the floor.

It looked like the options for breakfast was fruits, juice, milk and toasted bread. I sighed. Kinda lame. Looking around, I saw the purple haired one- Rui and the pink haired one- Mizuki, at the table. Mizuki definitely seemed to be regretting what they did last night. They looked like they had a splitting headache.

I poured myself a glass of milk. "Last night was pretty good." Rui said, trying to spark some conversation obviously. "It's good to have a new member on the team after..." That seemed to sober the conversation a bit. I took a sip of my milk and grabbed a slightly deformed piece of brioche. Or what looked to be brioche.

After finishing both my food items of choice, I stood up. "Oh, one more thing, Akito! Toya will be showing you around here today." I nodded, and to my surprise, felt a small bit excited. Maybe it was to explore around here? But I knew I'd end up betraying everyone here. And I didn't feel guilty because a good 90 percent of the people here were incredibly annoying.

I went to grab my clothes since I'd ended up using spare pajamas last night. They were a bit muddy, but they'd have to do.

I changed, sliding into the slightly... soiled, literally, clothing. I wondered where my new aquaintance was. Maybe asleep still.

I went outside the bathroom that I was changing in, and it turned out that he was out there. He had probably been changing when I was eating. "Good morning, Akito. How did you sleep?"

I shrugged. "...Fine, I guess." I said in a mumble. I wasn't used to people caring about me. How... odd. I looked at his simple clothing. It seemed like he wasn't looking to do much training today because he'd chosen a brown jumper with jeans to wear.

"So, are you ready for me to show you around this place?" He asked me. I nodded. Orders were easy to follow. If I'm being honest, I just wanted to kill that prince. He was so annoying.

He smiled. "Great. Let's get going." I nodded once more as he walked towards me, and then we began walking straight out the doors.

The porch was in a much clearer light this morning. I could see it's almost gray planks and the tiny details on the handles. I looked at my guide. He was staring at the sky, but also walking down the steps. How odd.

I walked down the steps next to him. "This is where we train. We'd usually be here early in the morning, but with all the festivities, we've voted to take a unanimous day off." I took in the view. It seemed just like a plain patch of grass, but with scores from things that seemed like blades.
